Puffery refers to an exaggeration or statement that no reasonable person would take as factual. It often occurs in the context of advertising and promotional testimonials. Puffery may be used as a defense to a warranty or fraud claim, to assert that the plaintiff shouldn't have relied on the statements in issue. Puffery generally is defined as “exaggerated, vague, or loosely optimistic statements about a company that are deemed so immaterial and unworthy of reliance that they cannot serve as the basis for liability. The difference between a statement of fact and mere puffery rests in the specificity or generality of the claim." Phoenix Payment Solutions, Inc. v. Towner, 2009 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 91978 (D. Ariz. Oct. 2, 2009)
i.e. You are an idiot if you saw the word Ultimate and thought to yourself OMG this is going to be magical and amazing because its the Ultimate fix! Also, it is a bit more than just puffery, because it really is the ultimate fix. Ultimate meaning final and decisive. Because it really should be the end of these three different problems. If you follow the steps it will actually eliminate these problems unlike the much often proposed fix of setting ipresentinterval=0 and using frame limiting software, which really doesn't fix anything at all. So that fix leaves you still searching for a solution to frame tearing where this Ultimate fix is the end of your search ffs.
I get the explanation but the insult? You really have to resort to name calling to prove a point? Your comment could have been helpful but instead you load your response with law jargan to sound intelligent, then you put others down by calling them an idiot, which is nothing short of petty. This is a mod forum, not a court of law. Nobody asked for a long winded put down.
I'm running dual 270X's on my HTPC and dual 295x2's on my gaming PC both with Crossfire on and with mostly no problems... with the dual 270X's I get texture flickering from certain distances/areas unless I set the Object Detail Fade to the minimum... God Rays and Shadow Distance set to Medium, Ambient Occlusion set to SSAO, and everything else at Max/Ultra.
I have just tested it on my own 290x/290 setup. I get the occasional texture flicker but it is pretty rare. Mainly just on certain grasses in early morning light. The problem I had with crossfire was really bad screen tearing, especially indoors when the framerate would go above the refresh rate. If I enabled ipresentinterval=1 to get rid of the tearing I would get bad mouse lag, and if I ran the game in borderless window mode crossfire wouldn't work.
The only thing I found to have no FPS Cap, mouse lag, or tearing, and to get crossfire working where the settings I outlined in the description. Took a lot of trial and error, but I think I finally found the perfect combination of settings.
