It turns out thieves don't know how to read. I've been notified that this mod has been stolen and uploaded to Beth.net. The low life has re-wrote the description in simple-speak and now the "it won't work" comments are rolling in. That's what happens when it's not your work. You don't know how it works.
All my mods I might upload there at some stage, just when I can get around to it. I prefer here, though. It's stricter and we have more control over our pages and know that staff are quick to get rid of any troublemakers. I don't have the same confidence in the other site. So, maybe one day, just not right now.
So, if you see any of my 4 mods over there know that I didn't upload them (my username there is mystyk) and they will have been stolen by some lowlife.
Just reading my old comment and I read your post wrong, earlier. Who cares what he's wearing if you're doing the Institute ending, lol. I'll have a look and see if I can do it. Surely it should be as simple as this mod and not require editing scripts :-)
Just thought that if Paladin Brandis and Knight Sergent Gavil wear their suits during that quest, it would be cool if the same would go for Maxson in his Elder BoS armor. Maybe you can look their character data up, and reverse engineer a script for Maxson that works like theirs do during the Nuclear Option mission? Would that work?
I've been poking around but can't find the exact moment Maxson uses his PA during Airship Down. From there maybe I could get an idea how to make him wear it during the BoS endgame. As far as I can tell Maxson doesn't walk from the airport to the CIT ruins, he teleports to his marker at the ruins. Even if I put his PA just next to his marker someone else is bound to jump into it. A passing trader/my provisioner, a random BoS soldier, lol. That wouldn't be a good way to do it, anyway. Unimmersive is probably the word I'm looking for :-)
I remembered Gavil, (I forgot about Brandis), so went searching for him as well but, it must all be hidden in scripts. Scripts aren't my area. I wouldn't have a clue how to find them let alone edit them. It's all changed since Oblivion/Fallout 3. You might need to ask someone else to make the mod you're after :-(
I've been looking for something like this for a while. I didn't just want a mod to allow me to pop Danse out of his armor whenever; he's such a fanatical believer in the Brotherhood that I think it'd be odd for him to leave his power armor lying around. But the switch to X-01 after "Blind Betrayal" bothered me a lot for two reasons: 1) where the heck does Danse just happen to find a pristine suit of X-01 on a moment's notice, and 2) whether you convince Maxson to quietly exile Danse or not, there's no way Maxson's BoS is letting something as powerful as a full suit of highly advanced power armor--i.e. not some piece of junk cobbled together by raiders that's barely better than the unadorned frame--wander out in the wild. That runs counter to everything they stand for under him.
So, tl;dr: Great idea that's also the most lore-friendly outcome of "Blind Betrayal," to my mind. Glad I finally found a mod that matches my thoughts on that quest. Thanks.
Ok, this may be my new favorite mod. I don't mind Danse being in his armor while he's with the Brotherhood, but after his personal quest I want him out of armor. Especially on the character I romance him with.
I re-uploaded the file. Pulled it straight from my Data folder this time, lol, after checking in FO4Edit. I had three versions and could have uploaded the wrong one. I've done that before.
You mean the X-01 power armor? He still has it? Did you already have him as a follower (after completing the main quest) when you activated this mod? If so he won't have changed.
When Danse heads back into the bunker (once you've convinced Maxson to let him live) that is when he was supposed to get into X-01. It's a marker. The game basically says, "go to this marker and wear this outfit (X-01)." With this mod it now says, "go to this marker but wear this instead (BoS Uniform)." I'll put a note in the description, but ideally to have this work as intended you'd need to not have started the scene with Maxson outside the bunker.
In my current game I activated the mod after talking to Haylen. The latest I could have done it was as soon as I got to the bunker. As long as it's before the big scene, because after the scene it's too late.
Wish I knew of this before I saved him... Upon finding his power armor on the Prydwen I brought it back to him after Blind Betrayal just to find he was sporting a set of X01 armor. Kind of annoyed me really, Sole Survivor works their ass off to find one and Danse finds a WHOLE suit minus helmet (For whatever reason.) in a very short time. Did he just have it on back-up or sonething?
"Oh no I lost my power armor... Oh well, I'll go get this X-01 suit I found earlier even if it's better than what I was using I won't right now for reasons."

It'll be up in a few minutes.
Edit: Done.

Thank you very much, never mind
