Sorry took a few days longer than expected. Actually had to take 2 days off work last week, heh. But, the update for compatibility is done, uploading now. Please download the main file, then the optional overwrite if you use OCD, Functional Displays, or both. My OCD is out of date, but I believe the patch should still work fine. Be sure to load OCD / Function Displays BEFORE this mod.
I also had to fix the Mr Gutsy Chandelier, as Nuka World used my add-on node number that I assigned... I assigned 600 thinking it would never be used, lol. Anyway, I caught it before upload, so, should be good to go. These will be up in just a few minutes.
Thanks all for the patience, kind words, etc. I do really hope to find time to continue true work on this, as I do enjoy it and have many ideas to get to.
EDIT: Update is up, I had to actually fix the Assaultron Wall-lamp as well as it's add-on node got over written in Nuka World, too. Please let me know if you encounter any issues, but so far as I am aware this should be good to go as it is for now. Hopefully, I can get a meaningful update out in the near future, as I am sure people are wanting raider stuff now more than ever.
Just a quick note for anyone who happens to check this. I am still around, and still very much plan to work on this in the near future, but at the moment I have had to step away from it due to time constraints and health issues. I have seen people say the latest DLC messes with the menu, so I do plan to try to at least address that sooner rather than later.
While the latest DLC does mess with the menu, using SKE, atleast for me, lets me still use this mod without problems. I do hope that with Nuka World on the horizon you get back into modding, but I can fully understand that real life problems obviously come first. Making settlements look like raider bases have never been easier than with this tho! So many things in your mod makes me think Bethesda should've included them from the start, but oh well, atleast we got talented modders like you and many others on this site to fix the things Bethesda leaves out!
First off, I hope your health gets better. Secondly, I just found this mod after playing Nuka Cola World DLC and this mod is a must have! The unlockables arn't anything close to what you have created here and honestly are terrible. After becoming a raider and building raider settlements in the DLC I went looking for something to make it alot more immersive and this is where you came in.
I can't wait to be able to use your mod however I have read that it overwrites the Nuka DLC raider menu and has issues with other DLC. I'll wait for you to get back to proper health and into creative mode again because I am certain this is gonna rock.
You can use SKE (Settlement Keywords Extended) for that, it has a menu where you can select this, homemaker, placeable NPC's and a bunch of other mods.
@Ztygs Yep SKE is the answer because i had a look in f04edit and JuJooGuppy edited the base Raider category and made it his own, breaking it for Bethesda use and probably causing issues with any other mod using the raider category.
Dont get me wrong, i love this mod but you should never edit a vanilla settlement keyword entry, you should create a new one.
So, I apologize for being away. Health has demanded it.
I am hoping to resume on this finally, since with Nuka World out, this should do well.
As for the note above -- I didnt change the base raider menu at all. That isnt the issue, the issue is I changed the main menu by adding this at the end, so, it over writes the raider entry. Simple fix, I should upload a fixed version today. I *DID* move the raider poles into my menu since they are heavily edited for this mod, so I wanted the average user to be aware that they have new uses.
To everyone using this, I am so, so sorry for stepping away so long. It wasnt my intentions, as I love this game and enjoy modding when I have time. When I upload an update today / tomorrow itll be to fix the compatibility issue temporarily, shouldnt have new items at this time.
That said, I plan to use a script to have my menu injected into the main menu without compatibility issues going forward. I just have to study someone elses script for doing it, as scripting is new to me. But that seems the best route in my opinion. I *could* possibly do a version that slots into the raider menu itself, but I need extra menus, so that would eventually lead to compatibility problems. The script option seems the best.
Hey man hows that quick update coming?...I've had this mod since the day you released it and I've got tons of your things all over all of my settlements and the thing is I'm getting up there in Nuka World and like a lot of people on here really need that patch/update!..and no for anyone else that just want to say"Well just use Settlement Keywords"..NO..just no!!!
PS: I really hope you get feeling better soon and and keep your spirit high it helps
So, so sorry. Ended up missing 2 days of work and being down from wed on, and was the last thing on my mind. I will get it done, things just haven't gone my way.
Hope everyone is well. I must apologize, as I have not been updating nor making much progress on this the last month or so. In addition to my normal health issues, I have had a severe pain in my jaw creep up the last few weeks. I had hoped it would go away, but it hasnt, and I have been getting 1-2 hrs of sleep at a time due to it.. so I will finally be getting checked out. All this is to say I am sorry I have not had an update, but I am by no means stopping the mod. I am a slow worker as is, but currently I cant even focus on modding due to the pain.
I do hope to resume very soon, so again, my apologies. Hope everyone is enjoying the current content. I am sure Nuka Cola World will offer many decorations that I can take straight from the DLC, too, so I will have an optional download that includes items from that DLC once live.
Anyway, I will update again when I get this pain under control and can focus on modding more consistently again.
It makes me so sad. After hours of trying I manage to salvage some of your models by using Clipboard mod > gathering all your stuff that already exist in my settlements> copying to clipboard > pasting it back when i need it. Its a long process, but like for others your mod don't show in workshop menu. I even get rid of OCD :) as i prefer your mod and placing single objects manually oldschool way is something i can live with ( not really).
Just posting to see how people are liking whats in there currently? Specifically, the content added with the last update, such as the start to the metal wall set, the hanging ghoul, assaultron head light etc? Any opinions / feedback are appreciated. I know to be 'perfect' the hanging ghouls rope should be tighter and such, and I may very well adjust it later on. Was difficult to get it to look right and not clip the head etc.
Hope everyone is enjoying it thus far. If ya are, spread the word, can always use more support / encouragement.
I'll be un-sticking this post later on, just wanted it to be visible. The other post will remain the main update post.
I'm enjoying the metal walls, begun building a bit of a wall around Sanctuary with them! Some damaged/spiky/gory wall parts would be pretty cool too though if possible. I havn't tried out the hanging ghoul yet but once I begin decorating the area more I might! Again thanks for this mod, really helps making raider-like settlements with something like this. And with the upcoming Nuka World it seems like we'll finally get sorta official support to become raiders for real!
Funny thing is, Nuka World is almost identical to what my full Blood, Rust, & Bone mod is meant to do / be. I have part of my mods plan laid out in a document on my PC, and its crazy how similiar Nuka-World is to what I ultimately intend to do. I swear they stole the ideas straight from my PC (kidding kidding.) So, a little bit frustrated by that lol. I still have some stories I really want to tell (quests) though, so, I still plan to go forward with the mod over time.
For now though, will continue on the workshop portion of the mod. Thanks for the reply and feedback, always appreciated.
You're frustrated that bethesda plans to create a DLC that allows us to roleplay as raiders? YOU SHOULD BE GRATEFUL, you'll have your work cut out for you, you'll be able to work upon what they made and improve it!
I'm really excited to see what they'll do. If rumors are true that Nuke World is the last DLC for Fallout 4, it better be the best effin' DLC we get, better than Far Harbor. Everyone is hyping this so much.. I wonder how the "good natured" protagonist will behave in this DLC.. so many expectations..
Nah, not REALLY mad. In all honesty, the full scale of what I want to do will take a lot of time, and who knows if I ever finish it completely anyway. So trust me, I'm actually excited for it, just found it funny that it does a lot of what I was wanting to do
I wonder if we'll be able to customized our gang just like robots but instead, Raiders, give them equipment, weapons. Saints Row like.
But I bet Bethesda wouldn't go for such customization, probably your usual raiders, with Nuka World new armors and weapons, from what it looks like, there might possibly be several types of gangs each with their own... "theme" park? that would be good too, controlling certain themed gangs and asserting your power over the other park gangs, and then onto the commonwealth.
Meanwhile, do you have more plans for this mod, Jujooguppy? some raider/robot furniture like tables, chairs, even beds would be greatly appreciated
No doubt there are Bethesda Developers stalking this modding community, so your paranoia is just. Not even mentioning the Synth Infiltrators in the community. Beware! xD
EDIT: Had to fix the OCD + Functional Displays patch, somehow uploaded a blank file. If you needed that, please download the correct one. Thanks for giving me a heads up, I have no idea how I missed it but I did.
Alright, new version is up.
For the record, I re-labeled the version number. Instead of V1.6, this update is V 0.16. This was simply because its a better indicator of my overall progress on this. So don't worry, it is the newest version
I wouldve liked to have gotten more in given I took awhile between updates, but, real life happens unfortunately.
What is included this update:
-New barbwire fencing pieces: Straight wire, and block-less pieces. -The START of the scrap metal defensive walls. Got a few pieces in and a few posts. These have connections for 45 degree angles, too. Hope ya like the direction of this set, I am kinda focused on trying to come up with more variety for it. -Ceiling hook mounts (2 and 1 hook) for hanging robotic salvage from the ceiling. I have longer lengths of these available, but I am not sure if people would want longer? -Assaultron head-based wall light. See the screenshots! -A support beam attachment for the raider poles (And moved them menu wise into their own category under ground decorations.) -With the support beam in place, you can attach the hanging ghoul(s) onto it. I think the movement needs refinement, but always appreciate feedback. -Started adding menu icons and tweaking some. -A couple different baseplate attachments for the totems (I don't think they were in the last update.)
I think that covers it. I really did hope to have more done, but between real life kicking my ass, me being fairly slow at modding, AND me hitting a wall when it came to ideas for the scrap metal wall (heh.), it is what it is I suppose. I have the ball rolling on a few ideas for new wall pieces for that set, but if I have to, I will step away from it and work on other ideas that I already have planned out.
Regardless, hope you guys enjoy, as always I appreciate feedback and your support!
No problem, I hope you end up liking it. I still have more of it to add (some non-curly wire, more variety of it, etc etc.)
I think it looks pretty neat using the raider totems as poles myself. Reminds me though, I need to adjust the orientation of the totems when snapping to the concrete.. sigh. I knew I was forgetting things.
Agh. No idea how it happened, but I grabbed the old gutsy model, so the .esp doesnt point to it. I will fix the upload.
Sorry bout that, thats a fail on my part. Ill post in a second when its fixed.
EDIT: Grab the Gutsy fix under Optional Files, should do the trick (It won't overwrite any files, just places the proper mesh in there.) Thanks for bringing it to my attention, was just trying to get crap together and overlooked it.
As for your other question, there are meshes left from the DLC itself, but most are not very raider themed which is more the direct I am going with it. There are a few more robot scrap pieces I can add, though a lot of them are either not all that attractive or just really similar to pieces I already added. I mentioned below, but I am going to mess wiith the Robobrains at some point, since in all likelyhood the Rust Devils would have 'spare' brains lying around from tearing them apart.
That said, if you note a mesh that you feel really fits with the raider theme, be it Rust Devils or other raiders, by all means mention it, its possible I missed it!
Sure, I can give you heads up on any mesh I notice would fit, but how would I ever come out describing it?
"Yeah, it looks metallic in colour and there are some robot parts sticking out of it. It's the one to the left of that helmet inside that dungeon!"
Also, which program(s) are you using? I'd love to take my own free time to help doing exactly what I pointed out, grabbing the remaining mesh models and converting them into buildable decorations for all us robot-themed lovers. I suppose that is the crossroad we are both standing at. You are leaning towards the "raider"-setting while I want as much "robot"-style themed items as possible.
Screenshots are the easiest way to describe something
Right now, I am using:
3ds max 3ds max NIF plugin Photoshop Intel .DDS plugin Nifskope FO4Edit BAE extractor & Quixel Suite 2
As well as having the CK downloaded, I just don't need it at this point.
That said, if you're only looking to add in stuff straight from the game, you can get away with just using BAE extractor to extract all the relevant files, Nifskope to add in the necessary lines to the meshes for use in Workshop mode, and FO4Edit for creating the mod itself.
I will say, that while I am focused on raider themes, one of those themes IS the Rust Devils, so, there will still be various robotical / mechanical contraptions coming (Think like the totems, the eyebot brazier, etc etc). In fact, I have an assaultron-head / skull wall light basically done, as a new example. So, I will still be adding in stuff like that. I need a lot more robotical themed decor for the Rust Devils. I am even open to ideas, if you have a neat idea, I can see what I can do with it.
Oh, each raider faction will have a "throne" of sorts, too. I have started slowly working on the Rust Devil throne, which is a throne built into a dead Sentrybot chassis that raiders tore apart
So I have downloaded most of the tools you are using and I have already familiarized myself with most of them. Having one small "Issue". I have opened a mesh, more specifically " DLC01RaiderBotParts01" but I cannot find the corresponding texture file. Scoured through the whole texture folder with BAE and no luck. Any smart or quick way to locate corresponding texture files?
**EDIT: I applied a regular assaultron torso texture found in the main Fallout folders and not in the DLC and somehow it magically fit onto the DLC model. Odd.
There is currently 2 or 3 sections of barbwire with no totems / poles, that can be used as you see fit. There will be a non-curly (straight wire) version in the next update, too, as its already done.
Currently have (For next update):
-New wall light based around Assaultron head -Just another piece of scrap, off from Sentry Bots. -More barbwire sections, straight wire. -Some more attachments to the totems, base attachments currently -New attachment for the vanilla poles, that supports.. -the hanging noose with a ghoul in it, that moves slightly. Need to refine the movement but it looks good I think. I plan on adding in raiders and other stuff into the noose as well. -Plenty of WIP's, just sometimes need inspiration.
Raiders hanging from the noose too would be amazing! Show your new possible raider recruits that they shouldn't mess with ya'! And the "Throne" idea sounds amazing tbh. I can't wait to see what you come up with!
So, I have been busy with life, not to mention my old SSD's fried and I lost all my software.. ive been unable to track it all down to keep working on this, which frustrated me and so I just stopped. Id have loved to add more to this; maybe if I can get around to finding the necessary tools, but I doubt it.
That said I can at least give a heads up for anyone wanting to use these items; I know there was changes to how people add items to the menu via mods, and this mod uses an outdated system. it SOUNDS like OCDecorator has a patch for this mod? that will make it work properly. I don't currently have any of the programs to fix this issue, and tbqh I don't even remember how to go about doing it at the moment lol. I just feel bad for people downloading this trying to get it to work and having it break things.
That also said, if anyone wants to make this function properly, you have my permission to do so, id rather my content get used than gather dust. I quite liked some of my ideas / designs, I had a lot more in process before my PC went belly up on me.. sigh.
Sorry for any inconveniences trying to get this to work, if I ever get back into Fallout 4 and modding, ill be sure to clean this up, but at this point I lack the tools to do so. Thanks for all of the kind words, too, I appreciate it greatly.
just came to say that this mod still works fine, have pretty much all cc content installed, no ske or ocd though great work JuJooGuppy! and molto grazie!
Ay JuJooGuppy, hook us up in 2022 man. The game won't get updated anymore, so throw out an update for this so we can use this legend until Fallout 5 launches in 2038
Loved this mod, does not work with the current fallout 4 version sadly, it shows up, but all items are invisible, can be even placed but does not generates the object. RIP </3
I encountered an error message trying to un-install the mod using nexus manager that totally broke my game. I've had to disable all my mods and reinstall my game, fortunately I always back up all my save files. There are no clear instructions I can see on how to un-install this mod safely. Am I missing something?
Since installing this, I've lost access to my Cages and Raider workshop menus, as well as OCDecorator, despite having the OCD compatibility replacement esp. Even though I went back to the same load order I had previously, I'm stuck with the bug. It's frustrating to say the least. I've tried the Universal Menu Fixer as well as the Workshop Menu Missing Tabs Fix to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Was afraid this wouldn't work for me, after reading other comments about it being incompatible with CClub content. But I went and downloaded OCDecorator, then installed this plus the OCDecorator patch. And it works just fine. I didn't necessarily want to install OCDecorator, but whatevz

Hey all,
Sorry took a few days longer than expected. Actually had to take 2 days off work last week, heh. But, the update for compatibility is done, uploading now. Talking about those 'easier' deco items and clutter than you can just port over for us to make, not your custom ideas. So how many are left of those?
Also, the "Mr. Gutsy Chandelier" is invisible for me, even after I "place" it, I can hear the placement sound but nothing appears.
