KRISS Vector has frame made of polymers. That's it - this one part of the weapon you covered in rust so heavily is basically the one part of it that CAN'T rust.
uh. this doesnt really make sense considering it comes from the institute and only the institute and there shouldnt really be a wasteland version also this thing looks in wayyy too s#*! of a condition to even function properly, so i suggest adding a little bit of wear and tear and some wastelandish stuff on the original vektor instead of this rusted piece of s#*! that shouldnt even function also >not uploading the EOTech holo but why
@dazzerfong Without knowing the whole story, I will say refusing to share your work seems a little shitty to me personally. I figure every modder on here is (mostly) trying to enhance the gaming experience of every other individual on the site. Seems like refusing to share you work flies in the face of that ideal. I mean I guess it is your right to do so, but at the same time it seems like it's against the point of it all.... I personally would love that sight on the Vektor, if you want to hold out I just don't see the logic. I dunno, my two cents is all.
I totally understand if he doesn't share the holo sight, it's his work and it sure took him long time to make the model PS:He is not a dick, @pyakoumatos
Maybe he thinks he is going to make money off of it? Not that he will, and if he does it won't be a lot. I've realized people who get weapon mods aren't the best at showing their appreciation. I was getting a lot more donations for settlement mods than I am for doing weapon mods. I don't make my own models, but if I did I'm sure I wouldn't mind sharing them, I mean... you're already releasing it for free...
Yeah dude, I'm sorry, I appreciate what you were going for here, but even if the Vector where a steel construction, that thing looks like it would disintegrate into jagged shards of rust flakes upon racking the bolt, let alone firing. There is a cool youtube video for a post-apolocalyptic paint job someone did on an airsoft replica that would probably look alright. Unfortunately I no longer have the URL, but if you search youtube I bet you could find it.
Edit: Found it - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uolFWZK3fPs You make that work, I bet you get non-stop downloads. I'll be the first.
The problem you're going to run into, is that polymer guns don't really GET a distressed look to them. A few scuffs, maybe a stress crack, or burn marks from something. But they don't rust, they don't 'weather' the same way wood does...unless they are somehow damaged, they don't really have the same aging appearance of steel or wood components.
So that would be my recommendation, add some scuffing, maybe a couple of burn marks where perhaps a hot casing got stuck against it, and perhaps a couple of small cracks in a high stress area, like the bottom of the guards on the trigger or bottom of the grip.
