Hi Lynx, sorry i've joined here late, but currently I know of no way of creating a yaw/roll (sideways tilt) function which is a real shame because that effect really adds some perspective to a shot. Bethesda sadly didn't think of this during development. The makers of Horizon: Zero Dawn however had the benefit of hindsight of previous games
Hopefully there can be a way in future, who knows :/
Very interesting thanks. My screenshots are normally just of buildings and they don't seem worth peoples attention. Will keep an eye open for peoples action pictures after this tutorial. Thanks for the time you took to write it up for us.
You're welcome. Now building shots can be cool too. Have you used ENB or reshades? I really like ENB's with custom weather and sunglare. They can really take a simple building screenshot to the next level.
Yes, I use "Subtle Enb" and "Enhanced color correction". Here is an example. Any tips would be appreciated. http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/images/22321/?
Nice build. I am not the best at building nice looking settlements. Anyways, I'd focus on adding a better looking background. Have you looked around at any grass or landscape mods? Also, what are your PC specs? If they are at least mid range, you can use the Fallout 4 Overhaul that I linked in my text file (at the bottom).
Here is an example of what I mean: https://flic.kr/p/DbagDJ. I have the True Storms mod with one of the green grass mods. Just because there is green grass, doesn't mean it is over the top.
Its stunning , thanks. Yes I do have True Storms , True Nights, all three Vivids - trees, rocks and landscape and for greens verdant Wasteland. Here is an attempt at a Storm with a haunting feel I tried to capture.
Okay, in this case, you need more lighting. Try adding a star mod like this one: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/145. Then bring your camera lower and farther away. Like start at ground level and move closer if it doesn't look good. Try and show off your good points of the shot as much as possible. So be sure to show off any high quality textures (try putting like a high detail looking car at the front of your shot), with the building in the back, while still using the lighting from the stars.
Also, you can try adding the More Grass mod to fix your lack of grass issue: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/2310. It's not for everybody, but I really like it.
Thanks again, I hope my questions helps other users. The dark night might not have been better with the star mod as it was a full blown True Night storm. Have downloaded the grass mod and am going to see what settings work on my pc. Any advice on if I have a large settlement build and want to show it off ? Would a overall high shot be best ?
Personally I'm going to wait for the GECK release to take those kinds of shots. The LOD's (level of detail of the long distance shots) are currently pretty awful IMO. Hopefully DynDOLOD will be released some day like for Skyrim... There is a FB group for Fallout 4 Settlement Builds. Maybe check that group out and see how they took the shot. I wish I could help more with this.
Nice page. Not all of us are as experienced as you and it's a good tutorial. I do think you might enter the high and low values for the SUCSM command in case an odd value gets left in. I assume 1 to 5 are the norms. And since you like making screenshots, I'll track you and see what's next.
Thank you. That's a very good point. I'll have to add a range to the file.
SUSCSM AND SGTM use multiplier values.
So if you want half speed you can use ".5" . Or three times the speed can be "3". I actually use "sgtm .1" all of the time for super slow mode that makes action shots easy... So when you are done, just type the command and a "1" and it will go back to default.
Thank you Ultra! I'm by no means an expert or anything, but I really enjoy taking screenshots. And I think they look alright for just having a gtx 970... And I know these are just basic tips, but some people don't know this stuff. But it's all good, because they have to start somewhere.
I didn't know most of it and thank you heaps and more heaps. Just using pageup when using console help made the d/load worth it let alone the other info, Thanks Mate ..
Makes me think I should upload my macros, basic for regular users but would be gamechangers for new players and lead them to working more stuff out for themselves.
