Affected: - the wood panel shown in images section (and this one only) - one wooden floor ( used on stairs affect stairs and some ceilings too ) - unpainted wooden doors ( war & prewar, unbroken & broken ) > does not affect painted doors ( and non wooden doors of course) - 1 set of furniture texture [ war & prewar ] ( 2 of many ) > affects : chairs, drawers, modest bookcase, cabinets & desks ...
Settlements wooden textures aren't treated, so shack floors, walls, stairs and other panel are still the sames. Only the doors and furnitures mentionned above are affected by the replacer (in furniture menu).
We do cover about the same wooden textures, but a very few I treated were not in Valius one (as some treated by valius are not in mine). That said Valius goes far beyound (even on wooden materials).
Seems that valius focused on better quality but in the vanilla mood/atmosphere. I intended to change that for a more personal atmosphere.
Well, I loaded the two packs together and came to the conclusion that *High Resolution Texture Pack - Valius - 2k and 4k* by Valius is better in many ways. It especially feels better with the wall panels he made. But I still prefer the doors and espacially the floor I provide; the vanilla mood doesn't suits me.
So, I released the 2.2 version with a darker mood for better intergration with other mods.
on purpose. I'm a nood on specular an normal maps ... so going too far from the original versions will give ugly results. I'm working on it, but sorry, for now it's all I can produce.
The one texture you may assume is worth it is the floor alternative.
Improved Wood Textures provides the look of a freshly crafted object rather than something that looks like it was made out of various scraps slapped together. Vanilla textures didn't seem all that fitting in the post apocalyptic Commonwealth. Greatly appreciate the time spent putting this together.
Hey, just a comment that some of your wood textures are saved in slightly inappropriate sizes. A couple of them are saved as like 1026x1024 instead of a perfect square of 1024x1024. This makes the ordenador texture optimizer bug out and completely ruin your textures
thanks for the update, nice textures. Btw Nexus Mod Manager still says 2.0 when i install the 2.1 files. No problem just to let you know and a little OCD
No, its a starter. I just treated the ones I've found too ugly for now, focusing on the "most used" textures (especially in abandoned house of the commonwealth)
- the wood panel texture
- one floor ( 1 of 7 ) > affect stairs and some ceilings too
- unpainted wooden doors [ war & prewar ] > common broken and unbroken doors > I won't treat painted doors as they were treated in some other mods
- 1 set of furniture texture [ war & prewar ] ( 2 of many ) > affects : chairs, desks, drawers, modest cabinets & desks ...
Settlements wooden textures aren't treated (shack floors, walls), only furnitures mentioned above will be affected
PS: The (b) versions are still in progress ( for a more vivid version ), I shouldn't have packed them, it's a mistake. These aren't supported by the fomod ... you took a sharp look on this one . Just "ignore them" for now (but I know: what have been seen is hard to ignore)

I'm going for that. And.. I have no idea why that link is so long

I'll try it ingame soon

2k wooden texture with specular and normals.

I'll check this out. Thk's for warning
Corrected in version 2.1 (2K) & 1.2 (1K)
Sorry for that. I'll fix the version display on next one.
Won't completely resolve OCD "issue" but might help

Please, fix uncorrect names: (b)BldWoodFloor01_d.dds and (b)BldWoodPWalls01_d.dds
for normal and specular, I'll work on it ( actually looking for a good "free" solution ). Any advice ?
I'll think of a 2k in the future, when solutionned normal generation and had better work on textures.
