Pretty much the same here ... Totally defeats the purpose if you ask me. It was nice and easy to use, now it's no different than just editing my configs manually lol.
so... obvious question: is the one now marked 'legacy' still going to be the best option for those of us that never upgrade, or will the new version work regardless is we're on the 'old' or next gen?
I've decided to focus my efforts on supporting the Pre "Next-Gen" update, it will always work for that version. I will support "Next-Gen" eventually but even myself right now am refusing to upgrade.
So to answer your question you can use either Legacy or the new version.
The new version has a lot of stability updates and a lot more descriptions and will eventually have the various tabs enabled (They are working at the moment but I'm doing a lot of testing before releasing it)
The "Legacy" version will still work if you don't care about the above bullet

Only see 2 tabs when running the config tool - main and settings. Ran as admin, no difference. Seems that using the nexus mod launcher didn't seem to work, or something. I checked all the directories of the ini files, game files, and fallout.exe and it misses all the tabs that I see in the UI screen caps to tweak other settings. Anyone have an idea what could be the conflict? Using F4SE, DLSS 3.7, DEF_UI, Mod config menu. unofficial patch, and all dependencies.
Sorry for the confusion. You will need to use the version in the other download section if you want all the other tabs. Those were added in 2015. I've since moved away from trying to manage those tabs for all the Bethesda games.
If you type just FOV into the filter search bar you will be limited to all ini settings that contain that word. Specifically the ones you want to modify for field of view are:
I know this is a long shot but I have been trying to edit my ini files to disable vsync.... i know if i do that it will play havoc with my game and speed everything up but once i change iPresentInterval=1 to iPresentInterval=0 and launch the game it still caps at 60 fps my frames are not capped in my gpu so would anyone know if f4se uses a diffrent ini because i have tryed both the ones in my documents and in the game directory any help would be nice thanks in advance
yeah your mod broke my game. i downloaded this crap a month ago and disabled vsyn and fps was totally fine but i noticed the physics were all messed up and i didnt like it so i followed the directions on uninstalling and did so. next time i started fallout i saw that my fps was over 2000 and my coils were basically screaming. i did so much research to try to figure out what was going on and edited my prefs file and ipresentinterval back to 1 to turn on vsync. still didnt fix the issue. i fully uninstalled the game and reinstalled and its still doing it. i ran it through steam and still doing it. no matter what i do to fix whatever this mod broke its not working and my game runs over 2000 fps and that aint safe for my computer so thanks buddy.
Hello I seem to keep getting this error after setting the launcher to overwrite the old one "error getting descriptions - could not load file or assembly 'System.runtime.compilerservices.unsafe, version=4.0.4.1 Not sure what I need for it, the legacy one works fine and doesnt crash when i try to load it.
In your fallout 4 game folder ...\steamapps\common\Fallout 4 there should be a file called ConfigToolInstallPath.dat if you open that with notepad it should have a path to where you have the main Configuration Tool extracted to. If that path is correct, make sure you didn't delete any of the files from that directory.
I apologize if this has been asked about already, but I'm hoping this mod will allow me to shift the player viewmodel on an x and y axis, could anyone help me with something like that?
After I started this Configuration tool, i cannot start up my fo4!!! it keeps crashing!!!! it was just fine before I used this one!!!! What in the hell please help me out!!
This tool is extremely powerful, especially when used incorrectly. I would backup and then delete your ini files in your Documents\My Games\Fallout 4\ folder and see if your game loads.
Can someone please explain to me in detail how I can delete this program completely... Im sorry if this questions is too stupid but I am very new to mods playing...

I personally have them all set to 105, but will depend on your preference
When I use the filter, there are many FOV strings like fOverlayScale, etc... so your specific call outs are helpful!
iPresentInterval can be set to 0, 1 or even 2
I dont think f4se uses another ini but maybe another mod is overriding
