think there's a mistake with the "all npc's killable" option. when i first launched the tool, it was blue (on), so i turned it OFF. later when i was playing, my companion died in the middle of the fight, lol, so i checked the tool again and looked for the bEssentialTakeNoDamage and the value was 0, but the tool says the default value is 1 and when i changed it back to 1, the "all npc's killable" option went blue (on) again.
The NPC Killable button has been renamed to NPC God Mode, as enabling the button (turning blue) means you're setting bEssentialTakeNoDamage to 1, not 0.
Fixed the bug where using the recommended button is turning bForceUpdateDiffuseOnly to 1, when it should be setting it to 0.
Excellent, thank you! I was running Fallout 4 maxed out without any problems before the update, after the update the game decided to run sluggishly in some areas. With this tool I easily tweaked my game and it's running great now. Thanks!
Pretty much the same here ... Totally defeats the purpose if you ask me. It was nice and easy to use, now it's no different than just editing my configs manually lol.
so... obvious question: is the one now marked 'legacy' still going to be the best option for those of us that never upgrade, or will the new version work regardless is we're on the 'old' or next gen?
I've decided to focus my efforts on supporting the Pre "Next-Gen" update, it will always work for that version. I will support "Next-Gen" eventually but even myself right now am refusing to upgrade.
So to answer your question you can use either Legacy or the new version.
The new version has a lot of stability updates and a lot more descriptions and will eventually have the various tabs enabled (They are working at the moment but I'm doing a lot of testing before releasing it)
The "Legacy" version will still work if you don't care about the above bullet
Wow, quick and perfectly detailed response! I havnt even finished downloading and installing new stuff to break my new save I started yesterday! hahaha
I'll grab the new one then, I enjoy stepping on bugs.
The only time it could delete your saves, it creates a backup in %documents%\My Games\Fallout4 with a folder name starting with "unaccounted_saves_"
To restore them just copy and paste the saves back into your Saves directory.
Please note that this only is a thing if you enable the custom launcher with hot swappable save profiles. Normal use of just the settings will not touch your save files.
maybe I shouldn’t have tried your configuration tool, due to not being as savvy as a lot of other people on here. I totally assume that this is a user error on my part…but my game was I crashing after a few minutes of gameplay and I read great things about your tool. I downloaded it and ran it, but now all of the games on my SSD are saying that they need to be installed. They show up in my file folder but none of them are able to actually run. I appreciate any help you can give since now I can’t play any of my games haha
This is just an ini editor, not sure how it would have any effect on your installed game list or fix your game from crashing. Sounds like a mod you installed or if you updated to Next-Gen
Faced a similar issue with the next gen update, surprise surprise, it was a bethesda issue not mod related, try disabling weapon debris in the FO4 launcher settings, no more crashes since for me
