milkowskip, quick question. In the description for the patch relating to Better Weapon Mod Descriptions by SephDragoon you've put "Does not need main file", but both NMM and LOOT flag it as requiring AUTOcorrect. Does it? Or which is unnecessary.

I was wondering the same thing. My understanding is that it actually refers to BWMD, but since BWMD also modifies armour descriptions, I'd keep it. With Autocorrect and the patch behind in the load order of course.

edit: man I didn't realize the post was this old. Well I suppose it's still valid.

Hi sorry I kind of abandoned fo4 for a while and didnt check for comments here. For some unknown reason I get crash when test firing dlc weapons, and I didnt want to upload something I couldnt test first.
[edit: I solved the crash, just need to find time to test and make adjustments. Should be up in a day or so.]

      Done.

btw I didn't touch base damages because I havent played the dlc so i assume theyre ok. Let me know if anything needs tweaking.

Is the ReBallistic version of this mod compatible with the other versions of ReBallistic, such as the vanilla-themed rebalance? NMM seems to think that this won't work without the normal ReBallistic .esp loaded.

It's meant for the main version. I think it should still technically work with other versions, but im not 100% sure and recommend listening to NMM. you'd also have some stats and object names that dont match so it could cause confusion or mess up balance

Reading through the changes, I like almost everything you've got listed. Definitely going to download and try it out.

However, re:Combat Rifle vs Assault Rifle: The Combat Rifle is actually using a larger caliber round than the Assault Rifle. The Assault Rifle is firing 5.56, which in 'Merica' terms, is basically a .22 caliber bullet, in a longer case with more powder behind it than it's .22LR cousin. It's a fast round, but doesn't have the brute force behind it of the larger, slower .45 round in the Combat Rifle. The ideal way to balance that out, would be to either lower the base range on the Combat Rifle, or increase the base range on the Assault Rifle, and leave the damage values vanilla. This emulates the larger .45 imparting more force, but being slower and literally falling out of the air (check out some of Hickok45's videos on YouTube, where he fires .45, it's slow enough that you can see the bullet travel to the target). While the 5.56 is moving much faster, but just doesn't have the brute kinetic energy of a heavy bullet.

Thanks for the correction. However, as the Assault Rifle is supposed to be a superior weapon, the simplest way to reflect that was a change in Damage. I will try your suggestion with range difference and see if it works well.

I will happily admit that I'm biased against the Assault Rifle in this game. The model they used is based on a WWI machine gun, which was never intended to fit the role of an 'assault' rifle, nor to be man portable the way it's used in game. It just rubs me wrong. Whereas the Combat Rifle is clearly based on the Browning Automatic Rifle, and John Moses Browning was a genius.

So definitely some bias there on my part. But just looking at the ballistics, what I said before makes sense to me. I'm just not sure how well that range difference really translates to Fallout 4. I know it would impact VATS accuracy a good bit, but otherwise, I'm not 100% sure. It's sort of a nebulous stat in the game.

another cheating mod and it should be placed to CHEATS category. what "balance" are you talking about? mods like your ruin all that called a balance in the game. think you smarter than bethesda?

Yes because Bethesda never make mistakes and hotfix or patch said never made mistakes after launch.

Also if you look at the changes made they are minor, hardly befitting of a cheat title.

I find the irony of a guy calling cheats, whose name is max payne, the father of bullet time.

If Fallout 4 had bullet time like Max Payne did, it'd be called a cheat as well, but in that game, it's just a feature.

Auto weapons really are unrealistic and terrible in Fallout 4. When you make a gun auto, it's damage drops by something around 50%, so you do the SAME damage, with just more bullets, higher recoil, and less range. How is that at all a fair trade off?

So yes, automatics did need rebalancing, and if you think that Bethesda is the end all be all, just remember, their smartest decision was in making a game that could be modded, because they -knew- they weren't always correct.

      Dude, what are you doing?
Going around to EVERY mod you think is a cheat and telling them so?
I've seen you in the comments of other mods declaring the exact same thing.

Obviously you've made it your personal crusade to go around labeling every mod you feel is a cheat, as a cheat.

@SephDragoon dude chill I was on your side. There is a mod that changes the VATS to mimic the slow mo effect from the use of Jet. Its very good and way less cheaty then VATS, but thats my opinion.

Back on topic, this guy has endorsed Configurable Power Armor Fusion Core Drain and ETSGB - Easy To See Glowing Bobbleheads but I guess its only cheating if its not one of those 2 mods... since you know, no one only him knows better then Bethesda.

I like the thinking behind this one, probably much more accurate then the vanilla game. I fixed most of these issues myself with FO4Edit, so I won't be downloading, but cool to see others feel the same way.

Yea, I suspected by now most people would have covered the basic tweaks, but maybe some haven't. I uploaded for myself too- i'm new to this scene and am trying to get a feel for what people like/dislike, what needs fixing, gathering new ideas, etc. Thanks for your comment, I''m glad you agree

I've been busy messing with Skyrim myself, and I didn't want to dedicate too much time to Fallout 4 outside of playing it. I certainly appreciate the effort you've put in, and the changes all sound excellent. Thanks very much.

I've yet to try the mod out, but I have one question; wouldn't all of those expending casings impact performance? After how long do they begin to fade away?

TheClassyPython, I actually did not change how long casings stay around. I am using another mod called Rain of Brass for that. Sorry for the confusion. This mod just changes the speed and lessens the variation in direction of ejections so that they fly through the air more like in real life.

    Hi milkowskip,

I appreciate your changes, well done and thank you - there was need for some rebalancing.

maxpayne666 - I find your comment silly. I suggest reading the description before commenting, these changes affect both PC and NPCs, therefore it's not a cheat. The author went to some effort to better balance. Oh ... and as you asked ... when it comes to to the way I play Fallout - I'm way smarter than Bethesda (since you're on a site that is dedicated exclusively to modding the vanilla game - I would guess you may think so too ;-)
