For those that will inevitably skip the mod description.

This is not a complete standalone item, it is a material modification to swap textures on the vanilla combat armor (it wont replace vanilla textures though), to get it you must apply the "battle armor" upgrade on any armor workbench to any version of combat armor that you have. It is under the MATERIALS menu.

This mod does not include an option for the helmet...

just read the damn mod description.

Any suggestions or requests (related to this mod and within reason) drop a comment and ill take it under consideration... unless it's stupid... in which case i'll probably mock you.

I know right. I always check both descriptions as well as stickied posts since updates are often included in there.
But hey, Ive supplied the info, if someone breaks something then its on them to fix it if its something that has been clearly addressed.

Anyway, thanks for that man, This ones ona small hiatus before i update as im trying to get some things tested before i keep going on it.

Hey now, let's all chill out here for a moment. Take a step back and take a deep breath. We shouldn't get upset because people ask questions we think are stupid. A lot of people don't have the experience working with Mods like some of you other gamers. And because the person making the mod has worked so hard on it, they forget not everyone knows everything about it like they do. The description of this mod is great for explaining what it is, but there is not one word on how to "get" the armor. Until I read this post I did not know I had to go to the armor workbench and select the "battle armor" upgrade.

Most descriptions don't just tell you what a mod is, they give you a step by step description of how to use it. Do you need to start with Combat Armor or will Metal armor work? You said you need only be Armor Rank 1 to make it, are there any special materials you need? Do you have to be a certain player level?

You see? If you don't give precise directions, you're going to get many many questions, some of which you may think you've already answered. And please remember some of us are very new to modding and don't know how this stuff works. You may also have some young gamers who are totally new to gaming as well as modding. Please be patient with us and, please be precise.

I don't mind answering questions that have not been covered by my description, I do get tired of answering questions that HAVE been addressed, either in the description, or repetively in posts sections.

This mod is not so popular so not a big issue but my N7 Armor has 25k downloads, There has been a LOT of questions asked that have been more than covered in the description and are still referenced a lot in the posts.

As for this mods description, I have found that long desciptions that DO cover all that tend to not be read thoroughly, and you end up with the same questions (with the added frustration of already addressing it).
So yeah, I left out the things that are common knowledge or easy to find out. By common knowledge, I mean in a vanilla sense.
If you havent played the vanilla game long enough to know that crafting usually requires components (which are listed when you try to craft it), then you probably shouldnt be modding your game yet. And since the components needed are quite common (no ballistic weave etc), I figured it would be easier and cleaner to just omit this from the description. I highly doubt someone will be like "oh... this mod has a component requirement of 6 steel, I'm glad I knew that before I downloaded it!".

The "Battle Armor" section would have been found easily enough, the description does say that it is an option in the materials section of the armor workbench... so anyone using it would, I assume, go there first, it doesnt take a genius to figure out the "Battle Armor" upgrade option pertains to this mod, since its called "4K Battle Armor".

There is no level requirement other than what is controlled by the perk system. Had I have added a level condition then yes I would have made mention of it, but again, omitting these things makes it much cleaner. I am not here to hold anyone's hand. If there is a valid question then I will answer it, The point of the sticky post is to simply driect people back to the mod description that so many people glance over, and THEN come here with questions or further clarification, not just hit the posts up straight away without even bothering to check the description first.

good morning and decide to add the damn helmet, that you add extras or not how night vision or other mods of that key already depends on you but the black armor and that the helmet is left of white configuration and worse dirty white is as disgusting as pay taxes every month

I made this for myself, I dont use helmets.
I now dont have the files to work on it any further.
There will be no helmet, end of story.
I'll also be blocking anyone who demands things in a rude way, have had a lot of it recently on my mods and I'm getting tired of it.
I make s#*! that I want and I share it, if you want more then ask nicely or make it yourself.

I just finally discovered this mod the other day and installed it and have tried it out. It looks amazing. The textures are beautiful. I use CBBE so I will probably try my hand at converting it. For now, I'm wearing it over Newermind's Black Widow outfit and it looks fantastic. Belated, but I want to thank you for this beautiful armor. Endorsed.

Apoliogiues for the delay on the helmet, I went back to Skyrim modding to work on another project and let my FO4 mods sit idle. I will not be returning to modding FO4 until there are more funtional tools ann plugins for the new meshes.
I will try and get a helmet texture up for this mod though, it will be the only bit of fo4 modding I do for a little while.

Yeah, please do the helmet. For those of us who are OCD enough to like to go around with the full set of combat armor, not having the helmet is really frustrating.

LOVE this retexture... great work, Thank you. funny its just black, but the 4k and tone of it really makes it look real.

One suggestion... any chance of making the straps to the elbow pads also black or black leather? the yellow kinda stands out in not a good way when wearing all black and red outfits. you see the yellow also when looking at the pip boy.

    other then that, truly awesome.

I was actually looking for something like this. I prefer standalone mods rather than just a recolor for everything. It keeps my character and followers looking unique and actually compliments other armor/armour bodysuits. Looks great. Thanks for the Scouter too. Good stuff.
And by the way, It kicks the crap out of Shadowed any day.

    Great stuff!

But I noticed for the textures on light armor, yours do not show up if I use the Combat Leg Variation mod http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/5599/?

    Any way to change that?

    Thanks!

I'll have to make a patch I guess, I'd say that mod uses a new texture with alpha, give me a few days busy at the moment

Not sure if i did something wrong or what but for some odd reason the armor workbench isn't giving me the option to change textures after applying the battle armor mod :/

Vanilla armor workbench? Not the armor smith one.
Should be under the materials, where you can choose shadowed, reinforced etc etc, will be at the bottom and simply called battle armor.
Also need armorer 1 but should still show up.
It should work, if not try reinstall the mod
If still doesn't work let me know any mods that may affect the combat armor and let me know if you are male/female character and any other details that might help.
Also make sure it's vanilla combat armor, if your using a standalone combat armor (as in one that has an entirely new ID) at all then it may use different keywords and may not work with this.

nvm. seems that the texture files weren't going into the right locations >.>

though heads up as I did notice something at least in regards to the chest piece compared to the arms and legs..

some odd reason the physical and energy defence of the chest piece after adding battle armor from the polymer materials seems to drop by 1 or 2 points instead of increasing like it does on the arms and legs pieces
