Very nice mod, even i used the weaker version, it's still mauled me and my companions, so i have to rely on some enemies camp nearby and brotherhood of steel vertibird, and if they are on interior i have to sneak past them or get mauled to death
nah wtf this is perfect, i had before killed deathclaws swiftly, with beefy bosses mod, but this. oh no... so im on the quest to escort cabbot to the insane asylum and then we meet against the deathclaw. this is the first time i really had to use the buss windows to shoot it and i brought it down to 4/5 health while it smashed and flipped Mr. cabbot with no mercy. it ran away and i tried to catch up with him since he was walking away. bad idea, i follow him and the deathclaw ran strait towards me and hits with his throwing move getting one shot into the air 50 feet. lol this is amazing, and the only way i damage them is using a mod that gives me more ammo choices with allows my bullets to do bleed. strait up amazing mod this is making my play though so much more fun. i didn't use this in the beginning and if i did the first encounter would be impossible without bleed.
my advice is mods that add more and stronger guns for them. those usually keep it real, they are human and should die easily, but should have good gear.
perfect PERFECT I'm using a 5x damage mod for both me and enemies, and anything that doesn't have a ranged attack drops dead in a few hits especially the first deathclaw, it died before it even got out of the sewer
Hmm, still not quite what I'm looking for. The reason deathclaws are feared in NV is not because they are bullet sponges, it's because of how fast they can close distance and do massive damage with those lunging attacks. They are terrifying because you know they can murder you in seconds, they don't have screen shake effects, a big orchestrated background theme, or roar/stomp/grab animations. They just come running in and destroy you, honestly the assaultrons are scarier than the F4 deathclaws. The F4 deathclaws are easy because they are cowardly and dumb and spend too much time locked into flashy [but pointless] animations, they spend more time prancing around than actually attacking, you can just backpedal with a high dps weapon and kill them before they even touch you. Bethesda screwed up by trying to make deathclaws into these big "epic" set piece boss fights instead of making them an actual deadly enemy. My Ideal Deathclaw overhaul would have hyper-aggressive AI, minimal special animations, be twice as fast, Be unstaggerable, and have a damage buff across the board.
Yeah I agree, to a point. But that kinda made them horribly unfair, too. I know I know, thats the point, but still...I enjoy the theatrics, here. I like their little side-step prance. Gives them a sense of self-preservation. They don't wanna get shot, so they try and dodge. I think it would be more effective if their serpentine thing was much wider, you know? Like, they dart left to right in way larger steps. That roar thing has gotta go, though. Maybe if they roared AND charged, but the roar itself? By the time they're done, I've pretty much killed them.
In NV, the fact that they ignored armored was great, too. Made you really want to rethink, "Should I risk this?" I was kinda hoping they would kinda hunt you, especially the chameleons. Stalk you a bit. They recognize that you are not an enemy to be trifled with, if that makes any sense? Same with radscorpions. Then you could create a perk that alerts you when you are being targetted. Iunno, something like that.
