I'd been stuck for weeks trying to figure out how to merge vertices in Blender while keeping the textures intact when the OBJ file gets re-imported into Outfit Studio. Today Mixlmax and Av64760 gave me extremely helpful tips that got me on the right track to finding a way to do it.
I tried no less than 15 different methods, and most of them had disastrous results, but what does work is trying to merge one single line at a time. Trying to do two lines or two faces or more does not work.
The reason for doing this is that if you have vertices between the breasts, they cave in with bodyslide when you build the outfit, and if it's an outfit which isn't supposed to hug the breasts it looks bad. So you need to have no vertices between the breasts, just lines between each side.
1. Import the OBJ into blender. If there's a default cube delete that and then select the part you want to edit [Edited]
2. Go into edit mode (tab) and make sure nothing's selected (letter A is an easy way to toggle selection)
3. Left click the outer edge you want to connect to put the cursor there.
4. With line selection active (it's one of the tiny buttons at the bottom) select the line next to the cursor.
5. Hit W to get the vertex menu, then merge and to cursor
6. Hit A to unselect and do the next line until you're done :)

P.S. And this was supposed to be a reply to the comment below, dunno what happened, but it's a separate one now.
I'll stick to my stories I think, as they just seem to fall out of the strangeness in my head
And thanks for sharing another of your wonderful stories, Marthos
