If you're having trouble completing Mad with Power, you can consult this guide for help. However, note that this article contains spoilers for that quest.

Quest stages can be found at the end.

Starting the quest:

The quest will start automatically once you reach the main door of the Vault.

Get inside Vault 115:

The first part is easy: just head on inside, deal with the wildlife and step into the elevator. The objective will complete once you reach the atrium.

Find a key to unlock the locked doors:

Go through a doorway to the east on the bottom level of the atrium (the same level where the elevator left you). Head to the residential section (look for the overhead signs) and make your way through it until you reach a stairway going up. You may find a Novice-locked door at the end of the long residential corridor. Inside is a terminal, and reading the last entry will complete the optional objective and show the exact location of the key you're looking for.

Regardless of whether you completed the optional objective, head up the stairs and continue along the corridor. You will soon come across a door that requires a key. Left of it is the security office; go inside, turn left again and head into the office with wood panels. The key is inside the desk.

Continue exploring Vault 115:

Unlock the door just outside the security office, and you will find yourself back in the atrium. On the opposite side of it is another locked door; unlock it as well and head in. To the left of it is the cafeteria, where you can find the unique weapon (see this article for details). Head north along the corridor until you come across the Overseer door (and an angry Mr. Gutsy).

Find a way to unlock the Overseer's office:

To the left of the keycard reader is a small robot compartment with red light. Go inside, and you will notice a hole in the wall; go through it.

Register yourself as an Overseer candidate:

You should be inside a small room with two standing terminals inside voting booths. Access the one next to the wall (the other one is broken) and select Register as Overseer Candidate to receive the keycard.

Unlock the Overseer's office:

Go back through the hole in the wall and return to the keycard reader. Press Use on it to unlock the door, but be warned that you will be locked in until the quest is completed.

Find more information in the Overseer's office:

Make your way through the large corridor and then up the stairs (the doors will close behind you). You will arrive in the Overseer's office; read the final terminal entry to progress the quest, or skip straight to the next part.

Find the hidden switch:

I suspect this is the part that brought you here. Inside the central room is a display case with a red boat model, and the button is behind it. See this screenshot for the exact location. Pressing the button will open a secret doorway in the same room; if you can't find it, you may have pressed the button twice by accident. Press it once more to re-open the doorway.

Find a way to unlock the exit:

Make your way through the doorway you just revealed and find a big red button close to the steamer trunk. Press it once to unlock the doors; a green light will turn on to show that the doors are now unlocked, and the quest will complete. You can press the button as many times as you want to open/close the doors if needed.


Quest stages

These can be used with the SetStage console command to force the quest to progress if needed. For example, if you end up stuck on stage 30, you can type "SetStage JINW_Vault115Quest 40" (without quotes) will advance the quest to the next stage. If you're not sure what these commands do, do NOT use them.
