Fallout 4

Overview.

Since even before releasing the update 3.0, I already had ideas for the next step, which I didn't work on at that time, because, well, comes a moment in development where you have to put your foot down and say "that's enough", or you end up continuously working and the update simply never releases.

After releasing the update 3.0, after 6 months of intensive work, involving the overhaul of several core aspects of the game, like lockpicking or companions, I took a break, and went on different projets: I wrote stories, I made others mods, I played others games, etc.

There is also the fact that, I'll be honest, pretty much no one uses or care about my mod, a mod I spent 4 years working on, continuously improving it, releasing regular updates, further deepening its content, complexity, and ever-increasing its quality; a mod that, I know, is by far the most complex, most ambitious, and simply, the best perk overhaul, and overhaul mod in general, available, period.
But basically, no one cares about it, and let's no pretend otherwise: being snubbed and seeing that no one gives a F to something of such quality you have spent so much time, several thousands of hours polishing, testing, tweaking, inventing new things, etc; is extremely frustrating, and can be demoralizing: what's the point at busting your ass if no one cares at the end?
Even this article itself, I know that no one will bother to read it.

There is also another important, yet, simple reason: I stopped playing the game a long time ago, for various reasons, one of them being that I couldn't stand the look of my game anymore, especially when compared to Skyrim, who is vastly better in terms of, well, literally everything visual.

However, I never completely let go Fallout 4, and from times to times, I was going back at the CK, to work on several of my mods, doing some tweaks, that kind of things, I have the habit of always running several projects at once, so it isn't new for me.

Anyway, as I said, from times to times, I came back to the mod, I had some ideas, and I wanted to try them, so that's what I did, I laid some fondations, tested ideas, conducted experiments, I dare to say that on the matter of perks and their applications, I went farther than most, including modders, using the tools of the CK to their fullest extent, something that Fallout 4 developpers didn't even come remotely close to.

Finally, after the great support and advise from friends, I finally worked on my game and managed to give it a look that I can finally love and enjoy, and it finally gave me the desire to come back to the game.

And with that, comes the perspective of the update 3.1 of Perkfest.

I'll be totally honest: I haven't done even 0.5% of the work on it, as I said, after releasing the 3.0, I took a break, and only came to it to fix some lingering bugs, and try new ideas.

Due to this, and because the update is in its very, VERY early process, there is no release window planned: it will be released when its ready, for real.

There is also the fact that before really starting working on it, well, I want to just replay the game and enjoy my own work once again, before starting with the update 3.1.

However, while the work in itself is yet to be done, my ideas are already there, written, and most of them have already been tested, either in the previous months, either in previous patchs long ago, so, I will share them with you:

What is planned in the update 3.1.

- Head to the edges of the Commonwealth, to the mysterious Robert Hamilton State Penitentiary, a federal prison used to jail various criminals, from fraudsters, to murderers, to political prisonners.
Journey through the collapsed corridors of the prison, and unveil the dark secrets behind its walls...

The Robert Hamilton State Penitentiary will be a new location, introduced in the update 3.1, and will lead you through a difficult journey, designed for high level players, indeed...

For those of you who played with the mod prior to the update 2.6, this version removed one of the greatest features of the mod, a feature, that, at that time, I said I wanted to restore, but better...

The update 3.1 will mark the return of the superbosses !

Exploring the depths of the Penitentiary will lead you to hunt these superbosses, and fight them in epic showdowns in their own instanced zones !

Fight these extremely powerful foes, who have unique traits, study them, find their weaknesses, and slay them to claim unique and powerful rewards !

And once the dust will be settled, once all of them will lay dead at your feet, you will receive your final reward...

The update 3.1 will feature:

- Several new locations, including the Robert Hamilton State Penitentiary, and a new quest, designed for high level players.

- The return of the superbosses.

- New weapons.

- New weapon mods.

- New armor and power armor mods.

- For the first time: armor and power armor mod sets.

- An overhaul of the legendary weapon and armor effects.

- New legendary effects.

- New Automatron weapon mods.

- And others improvements...

The update 3.1 will be the most ambitious patch in the entire history of the mod, in this taking the mantle from the patch 3.0, and will be a fitting conclusion for its long life.

Indeed, unless unforeseen events,

The update 3.1 will the final patch of Perkfest, the Ultimate Overhaul.

Thank you.
