I have discovered that Valentine REBORN relies on absolutely no edits to Valentine's NPC entry, meshes, or textures that have not been done by the author of that mod. So, if you have any mods that edit those parameters then you will have mismatched textures.
My Nick Valentine's Day Patch (w/ REBORN edits) has alleviated most of these issues.
If you're looking for a way to have all the REBORN textures to apply to Nick then I would suggest using the mod Truly Unique Nick.
This article is to help walk you through the rest of the process.
Step 1
First open up my template PSD file as well as SynthGen2SkinDirty_d.dds. I don't know how to do this on GIMP but I'm sure it can be accomplish.
My template consists of three layers; a hard light opacity layer, a pin light opacity layer, and a base color layer (named Layer 1).
Move to SynthGen2SkinDirty_d.dds and select the lightest color you can find in the texture that is applied to the skin meshes with the eyedropper tool.
(Zooming in to pick a color)

(picking color)

Step 2
Go back to NickFace_d.PSD
Ctrl+left click on one the layer thumbnails in your layer toolbar

This will select only what is on that layer

Then take your pencil tool or fill tool to fill Layer 1 within your selection

Step 3
Once you have filled in layer one with the desirable color we need to adjust our opacity layers to roughly match our skin texture.
(too light)

(too dark)

(wrong lighting filters for our texture)

(that's about right)

Step 4
Now, all that's left to do is save and test in game.
Here are the settings you should use. We need an alpha channel for our transparency and 8 bit is plenty dynamic for what we need.

And here we are in game. It only took me a couple passes to get my color and levels right; and trust me I am by no means a professional in this area.
