    Just an FYI for anyone looking to use this mod;
There is a similar mod - Miscellaneous Items Fix by Raptre - included with FWE - Fallout Wanderer's Edition, so if you use FWE you probably shouldn't install this mod; it could/would likely cause conflicts and crash/freeze issue.

FOMM gives this error upon activation: "This plugin has the file extension .esp, but its file header marks it as an esm!" The mod does not appear to load, and its last in the load order.

    Nice Mod!

This makes inventory management alot easier! Maybe you could do food items as well in the future releases. Alot of them are too heavy in my opinion. e.g. a bottle of water should weight 0.5 IMO.

Misc. Item Weight Fix Version 1.2 Has Been Released

    **Whats New In Version 1.2**
Changed the weights of Leather Belt (.5), Turpentine (1), and Empty Whiskey Bottle (.5).

There isn't much else to change in this mod. So this will probably be the last update. If however anyone has anymore suggestions please let me know.

Anyways, yeah, a few hints would be nice <img class=">

Each misc. item has a Data subrecord. In the data subrecord you have two sets of hex code. The first set is for value and the second set is for weight. To change the weight of an item back to 0 just change the second set of hex to 00 00 00 00. Hope that helps, it isn't exactly easy to explain.

Can i do this from FOMM's esp editor?

    Version 1.1 Has Been Released

    11.16.08 Version 1.1
Fixed the weights for Carton of Cigarettes (1), Pack of Cigarettes (.3), Butter Knife (.1), Opthalscope (.5), Fission Battery (5), Big Spoon (.1), Paint Gun (3).

I have fixed the weight issues that were reported to me. Also I set the Opthalscope to .5 after it was brought to my attention this ear-doctor device weighs a little heavier than I thought. Also raised Pack of Cigarettes to .3 over .1. And raised the Fission Battery from 2 to 5, but it's still half of vanilla weight.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. If you have any other suggestions please post them and let me know.

On the previously mentioned subject of ammo weight...

BlindSniper has agreed to pioneer an ammo weight mod (click here to read), but he has a question about weight values in hex code. I would try to help him except that I can only code hex about as well as I can eat my own head. Maybe you could pop into the thread and offer some insight if you know the answer?

Thank you for all your hard work!

I've stumbled upon an interesting tidbit: the game *does in fact recognize* weights lower than 0.1 HOWEVER - the lowest weight it will *display* is 0.1 Fun facts! Yay!

What weight did you use to do this? When I changed the weight to .01 and added 10,000 of the item to my inventory my weight didn't go up one bit. Thats why I said it wouldn't recognize it. You can change the weight, and it will show .1 but I don't believe the game adds up anything below .1. Unless of course you've got it to add to your inventory weight by adding multiples to your character.
