This mod definitely is a must have. Have any of you looked at the distance between where the ferry boat would theoretically leave and Point Lookout State Park? If you were following the edge of the Potomac, It would take roughly 2 days to get there, WALKING.
It makes no sense at all why it would take a month to get there. Even on a cumbersome slow ferry it would the same amount or even faster because the current of the Potomac runs towards the ocean. I'm still puzzled why Bethesda decided to do that, maybe it was a glitch in their programming and never bothered to fix it.
Regardless, for anyone who has any mod that is affected by time, this Mod is necessary. After downloading a realism mod, my character would die as soon as I got there from lack of hydration.
Thanx for the reply dude. I didn't know there was a game clock , makes sense now. Will have to check that out. If I get into keeping track of it I'll remember this mod. thanx again.
It’s simply a personal preference. I didn’t like the fact that going to and from Point Lookout adds 1 month to the in game clock. I like to look at the clock and see how much real game time has elapsed.
Personally I wouldn’t run the game without this, some people agree with me and others couldn’t care less, it’s probably the same thing as my Lockpick Bobblehead mod, neither affects gameplay one jot, but everyone who downloads it will probably use it, simply because they do so little you wouldn’t download it “just to try out” if you know what I mean.
I'm with Linerunner here , a bit confused:o How do you know how long it takes? Why does it matter , is there a time scaler in-game? How is it a must have:? I never realised it took a month til now!
I'm not bashing it , I'm just trying to understand it.
One of the perk packs, I forget which, has a perk "Old Father Time" which adds 2% to your damage for every game month that goes by. This would prevent easy cheating of that particular perk, and if anyone ever makes an old fart mod where your character can actually grow old I suppose this trip might speed you along toward your retirement at Shady Acres... but other than that I don't see much of a point. In fact, until I stumbled across this mod I didn't even *know* the trip took a month. lol
Works like it should, it doesn't make sense why Bethesda made the travel time days in length. The physical journey is not very far and should not take any real time to cross, even by a slow steamboat.
A "must have" mod.
I have to agree here, it would not take a slow steamboat a MONTH to get less then a state away. Think of it this way part of the main map is already supposedly in Maryland.

However, I quite like that. The boat is a slow jalopy, it takes time on those seas.
I can live with it.
I just posted cos this Mod has told me something I didn`t know.
