About this mod

This mod is a combination of several modifications to the game. First, the mod fixes auto aim beyond any other FON3 Mod. Second, the mod improves VATS, including greater target acquisition range and melee attacking distance, more accurate shots etc. Most importantly, four holy artifacts of God and manna have been added within either player house.

Permissions and credits

Added a version that does not require any DLCs, but just includes the VATS and Auto-Aim fixes and does not include any of the weapons.

****A few things that make this mod unique is the inclusion of melee weapon max distance change, the removal of player damage during VATS, as well as the removal of the distance penalty. The Auto Aim distance fix and the VATS longer distance fix is at a much greater magnitude than any of the other mods here in FO3N as well.

It's like the combination of three mods, the "Auto Aim Fix," "Activate VATS at Longer Distances," and "VATS MCE" all in one mod.

INTRODUCTION

This mod includes several modifications to the game to improve your playing experience, and also includes several holy artifacts of god himself, as well as food from the heavens, that you are free to use or just disregard and just take advantage of the fixes.





Game Modifications:
1. Auto Aim fix


Problem:
This mod fixes Auto-Aim once and for all. As you know, the auto-aim in the original game is horribly broken. Any scoped weapon is therefore terribly inaccurate once you go beyond a certain distance.

Fix:
This mod fixes the focus of the Auto Aim to the edge of the game engine's rendering distance, and thus ensures that any bullet accurately goes to wherever your crosshair is pointing.









2. VATS "Improvements"


Problem:
Following from above, sniper rifles and any other scoped rifles do not benefit from the increased accuracy from their scopes during VATS. Further, enemies that you can engage via the scope in free-aim mode cannot be engaged via VATS mode if they are too far away.


Fix:
This mod increases the target acquisition range to the edge of the game engine's rendering distance.


Improvements:
This mod removes the distance-based VATS accuracy penalty, as this unnecessarily penalizes scoped weapons.
This mod increases the distance from which VATS can be activated while wielding ranged weapons.
This mod increases the distance from which you can apply melee attacks while in VATS.
This mod removes the damage you can take while you are in VATS.









3. Custom Weapons, Armor, and consumables
This mod also includes three weapons, one armor, and one consumable into the game. The weapons and armor come with custom effects, including sounds/projectiles/explosions. Each of these items are quite overpowered, but they are very fun to use.

God looked upon the mess humanity brought upon themselves in Fallout, and decided that a more PERSONAL
intervention was in order. And thus, he has endowed several holy artifacts as well as manna within the
residence of his CHOSEN ONE to bring peace and justice upon this world.

All of these items are found on both the floor of the player's Tenpenny Suite or the second floor of the player's Megaton House. You are free to use them or just leave them there as you please. No NPCs will use these items, so don't make the presence of these items prevent you from getting the VATS/Auto Aim fixes.




A. Custom Weapons


1) Armageddon
This weapon uses the Tesla Cannon model, and as the name suggests, is a shoulder mounted bringer of doom.

Armageddon shoots gigantic masses of pure energy that fly out from the muzzle in a random "shotgun" spread. Each ball of energy that strikes the ground causes a huge explosion of blue plasma. Due to the massive amount power that's condensed in each shot, the projectiles are very heavy despite being made of pure energy (much like a black hole). This means that the projectiles will curve downward if shot in a straight line forward, and can be shot like an artillery blast over obstacles.

As the weapon draws upon heavenly energy, the weapons skill draws from the strength of the player's connection with the heavens, represented by the player's unarmed skill (rather than the big guns skill).

Further, since the weapon shoots heavenly energy directly it does not depend on any mortal ammunition. And as a weapon from god's holy armory, it is weightless and cannot be damaged, and cannot be hit in VATS.




The weapon specifically fires 50 Death Ray projectiles found in Mothership Zeta, in a widespread pattern similar to, but wider than, the MIRV. Each projectile weighs the same as a fat man but is nearly twice as fast, meaning that the projectiles can be shot much further away than the MIRV. The weapon can be "aimed" to give a wider field of view and increased peripheral vision. Each explosion deals 2000 damage (compared to 1600 damage of the Mini-Nuke) over a radius of 2400 (compared to 800 of the Mini-Nuke and 5900 of the megaton nuke). Now imagine 50 of them being shot in a wide area... As the projectile is energy based, it uses the blue plasma grenade explosion FX and sound.

The weapon's animation has been sped up to make weapon switching effortless. Once the weapon has been picked up, it cannot be dropped.

The weapon itself (and the explosion) is considered silent by the game engine, and thus can be used for stealth annihilation of large colonies.

Any enemy that is caught in the blast but is not killed will be knocked down and won't be able to stand back up.


CAUTION: shooting this weapon while running the game in a low-end machine will overload the video card and cause Fallout 3 to crash. Although the plasma grenade explosion FX is much less taxing to the GPU compared to the nuke explosion FX, 50 of them still causes even my 9800M GTS fan to begin running.




2) Wrath of God
This weapon uses the Alien Drone Cannon model, and its primary purpose is extreme long range target annihilation with automatic capabilities.


Wrath of God is held in two hands to improve the accuracy and focus the energy beam that's shot from the muzzle. Each shot carries enough power as a shot of Armageddon, but is focused into a single target. If the trigger is held, the weapon can fire up to 10 shots a second.


The weapon has a scope that allows one to aim as far away as is possible within the game engine (just 5.1 degrees within the field of vision, compared to a sniper rifle's 25 degrees).


As a beam attack, each projectile is shot at 16000 units a second, is silent, and explodes in a small aoe (enough to hit all limbs if shot at the torso). The weapon has 0 spread, meaning that the beam will hit exactly where the crosshair is immediately upon hitting the trigger.


As the weapon draws upon heavenly energy, the weapons skill draws from the strength of the player's connection with the heavens, represented by the player's unarmed skill (rather than the big guns skill).

Further, since the weapon shoots heavenly energy directly it does not depend on any mortal ammunition. And as a weapon from god's holy armory, it is weightless and cannot be damaged, and cannot be hit in VATS.


Each shot deals 1000 damage, with an additional 1000 damage if a critical is triggered. Any enemy that is not killed by the first hit will be knocked down forever, unable to stand.

The weapon specifically fires the Liberty Prime Laser Projectile FX, and hits the target immediately regardless of the distance to the target. It is extremely accurate, as long as you aim the crosshair correctly. The weapon is automatic even while using the scope, and can be used for long range annihilation.
At impact, a smaller version of the liberty prime laser explosion is created, for a spectacular display of superior weaponry. The weapon has a custom sound and custom designed explosion effects.


The weapon's animation has been sped up to make weapon switching effortless. Once the weapon has been picked up, it cannot be dropped.

The weapon itself (and the explosion) is considered silent by the game engine, and thus can be used for stealth annihilation of any target, no matter how strong or how powerful. The weapon also cuts through any armor like butter, and therefore ignores enemy armor values.



3) God Hand
This weapon uses the Brass Knuckles model. Unlike all other melee weapons in the game, this weapon can hit more than ten times a second (as fast as you can click you mouse).



Designed for melee combat, this weapon will hit extremely fast, unlike any other regular melee weapons (auto axe and ripper don't count -_-).

Much like an automatic weapon, wearing God Hand allows you to absolutely annihilate any and all enemies that dare stand in your way with nothing but just your fists. Drawing upon the power of the heavens, each hit of your fist causes a flash of blue light and explosion of flesh and bones.


As the weapon draws upon heavenly energy, the weapons skill draws from the strength of the player's connection with the heavens, represented by the player's unarmed skill (rather than the big guns skill).

As a weapon from god's holy armory, it is weightless and cannot be damaged, and cannot be hit in VATS.


Each hit deals 1500 damage, with an additional 1500 damage with every critical hit. Any enemy that is not killed by the first hit will be knocked down forever, unable to stand.


The weapon also makes your hands look like a true brawler, with custom models that show bound leather strips on your hands to make every hit of your fists that much more deadly.

The weapon also cuts through any armor like butter, and therefore ignores enemy armor values.

The weapon has a vastly increased reach, representing the "holy spirit" that surrounds anything touched by god.


B. Custom Armor

1) God's Raiments of Divinity

As humility is the key to gaining entrance into the heavens, humility is what comes to mind upon viewing this clothing. God's Raiments of Divinity outwardly looks like the typical outfit of a laborer but within its seams carries the power of creation.


Why did I choose the laborer outfit? There's nothing funnier than a nearly naked weak little child ripping apart power armor-clad monsters with his bare hands :)


The outward appearance of this armor is that of a tattered slave outfit customized with leather gloves. Every so often the armor causes crackling "sparks" to appear within the air that surrounds it, barely hinting at the incredible amount of power that's stored within. Due to the nature of this armor, no other bodily outfit can be worn with the armor (other than a few hats).

As an armor from god's holy armory, it is weightless and cannot be damaged.


The armor has a base damage resistance value of 600.


It also has many special qualities. First, wearing the armor allows you to run 5 times as fast as normal. It also allows breathing underwater. When crouching, this armor gives a permanent 100% stealth field effect (compared to the puny 75 stealth field of the Stealth Boy or the 5 stealth field of the Chinese Stealth Armor). The armor also allows you to ignore any limb damage when running or using your weapons.

Most importantly, however, wearing the armor gives the "Mark of the Savior" upon its wearer. This mark gives the following benefits:
Enemies cannot critically hit you.
You cannot be addicted to chemicals.
You do not gain radiation from drinking.
Your limbs cannot be damaged from weaponry.
Your weapons are just as accurate hitting from far away as if you were hitting point blank.
Mines you step on will not explode.
Your weapons will always critical hit.
Any medicine you take will heal you to full.
Your VATS hits will always connect.
Each hit you make in VATS will increase the % chance to hit.
You ignore any broken locks/terminals and can easily force open/hack them again.
Running will have no effect on enemy detection while you are in stealth.




In addition, the armor's different protective qualities include:
Increased Damage Resistance +10000
Increased Electricity Resistance +10000
Increased EMP Resistance +10000
Increased Energy Resistance +10000
Increased Fire Resistance +10000
Increased Frost Resistance +10000
Increased Poison Resistance +10000
Increased Radiation Resistance +10000
Increased Health +100000






C. Custom Ingestible

-----God's Manna-----

God has endowed upon you Manna, the food of the heavens, for your use.



This medicine heals you to full health no matter your HP, and completely eliminates any radiation you may have taken.









Concluding note:



As I mentioned above, a copy of each of these weapons and armor, as well as 15 God's Manna, can be found in:
A. the second floor of your Megaton House
B. the floor of your Tenpenny Suite




If you would rather use the console and get the items the easy way, then do the following.
First, press "`". (the tilde key)

Type one of the following codes, depending on which item you require:

xx will be 06 if no other mods were installed. And if other mods are installed, the number will be different (but I'm sure you know how to handle if if you have other mods installed, as you are then probably already experienced with things like FOMM and such.)

Known Bug: The Wrath of God has trouble shooting downward when using VATS while crouching. This bug is limited to third person mode, and the bug is only apparent in VATS because the character is forced into third person mode. It was either suffer with this suffer, or deal with the horrible stuttering of other grip types that would ruin the aim of the scoped sniper shots. I have chosen the lesser of two evils.


I repeat, this bug ONLY AFFECTS THE THIRD PERSON MODE, so normal play should not be affected.



Moral of the story? When using VATS with the Wrath of God and you want to shoot downward more than 40-45 degrees, do not crouch. Even better, when shooting downward, stay in first person mode. Besides, who fights/plays the game in third person mode anyway? Third person mode is mostly for screenshots only.


This bug is common across all 2handhandle grip weapons. Then why not choose other grip weapons, you ask? Any other grip weapons contain horrendous recoil animations that cause the sniper crosshair to terribly wobble when shooting. Thus, it's a choice of whether you definitely know and can avoid a bug, or suffer through a flaw that will affect the weapon's shots every time. I chose the former.

Why did I choose these particular weapon and armor models?
I like the electricity type effects that are visible within the chassis of the tesla cannon as well as the "tip" of the alien drone cannons. These electric spark effects can also be seen in the Tesla Power Armor.

These electricity effects are the only ones that remain visible when the "stealth shader" effect of the stealth field is applied during crouching.

It makes the stealth animation that much more irresistibly :)
