the xbox 360 version will already contain this patch as long as you have launched the game before with internet, and no this can't be put on xbox only pc
When i run the exe it starts to patch and everything, gets to 99%, and then i get an error about the fallout3.exe file or something. Something about Ordinal 5359. Is this compatable with a verson of Fallout 3 that isnt legitimate? i might have gotten mine a different way... however, i get that error and i dont see anyone else having the error.

If you are encountering a problem where the game starting immediately after the install causes the install to fail, don't try to stop the program at 100% with ctl-alt-del, it's easier to move a crucial file that's need to run the game but isn't modified by the installer to the wrong place, like desktop. This worked for me by moving a dll file. When the installer finishes and tries to start the game the game will crash and the install will have worked correctly. (Don't forget to but the file back where it came from when you're done)
Thank you, it seems like Bethesda took this down from their own website for some reason. Maybe they just forgot that standalone disc copies of FO3 existed.
SOLUTION FOR PATCHING TO PATCH 1.7 OR ANY I BELIEVE This worked for me it's not to say it will work for you.
Press Windows strart button, in search bar enter "lusrmgr.msc" and enter. Press on Users and then on Administrator Untick "Account is disabled" and apply log off your account and log on to Administrator account (If asked for a password, most of the time it's "admin" if not, sorry i cant help you with that but i'm sure you'll find a solution on the internet.)
Install patch Log off and Log on to your account and play
