2023 review: "A Little Mutant Problem" is exactly another classic mod from long gone era of Fallout 3 modding golden age which clearly passed the test of time. Why? Because, even though technically "not lore-friendly", these quests are what I felt was missed in vanilla Fallout 3, and this kind of optional content is an essential part of Fallout identity since Fallout 2 at least. Dark humour (sometimes even crossing the "red line") and crazy kind of joke quests which you can find in O.G. Fallout 2 and Fallout: New Vegas (especially with Wild Wasteland perk) and somewhat little in Fallout 76 (but, again, not "THAT" dark, just silly). Vanilla Fallout 3 doesn't have enough of this stuff to satisfy my needs in this aspect of Fallout-esque vibes, except "Superhuman Gambit" quest and some minor references. So, "A Little Mutant Problem" covers that part of hilarious Fallout narrative additions. From the structure and technical side of things, these new quests are nothing more than another "fetch missions", but it's really, eh, "the mutant in details" kind of new content. Drunk Vault Boy, talking dogs, ghouls that found aliens and very "inappropriate" jokes about little mutant. You have to experience it all by yourself. Not very long, just exactly enough time (around 1-1,5 hours total) to complete all new quests and to not feel bored with this vibe. Can't really agree with ZombieRiser's comment about "best fallout 3", but it's still should be a "must have" mod for any new or returning player. Even after playing second time in 2023 (first time I used this mod in 2010, if I remember correctly), this pack of quests felt unusual and even more stable than dozens of other quest mods. So, it's also pretty bug-free even today and won't conflict with most popular quest mods for Fallout 3. So, should you try this mod in 2023? Yes, if you also prefer this side of any classic Fallout games with more dark humour, crazy jokes and strange characters. Endorsement from me.
Hi, thank you so much for making a video of my mod, it is much appreciated Sorry for the late reply. I am not sure why the voices are not working, this could be possibly due to the audio files not being installed in the right folder. Anyhow, carry on the good work
I just recently installed your MOD, great idea and thank you! But I am having an issue, there is no voice when I trigger the talk to any of the characters, instead I have to read the dialogue, not that I mind, but is that normal?
