For everyone having trouble recruiting Sarah after you blow up the Enclave's sh*t, remember that you have to talk to her dad and ask him if she can join you. Otherwise, if you select the option "Maybe we should travel together" she responds by saying "You have a terrible sense of humor" and walks away.
Ever since I installed this, I can't hire other followers even though I've dismissed her 🙁. If any of you knows what's wrong, please help a noob modder thank you.
I could write one. One that makes sense and is in character. It wouldn't have voice, but i can do it. - She's a super dedicated person, workaholic, earning for parental approval and direct in a no-nonsense way, but also tainted by the brutish ways of the military and with little patience with "civilians" and the unspoken arrogance of all soldiers. There's a lot of moral choices in her. I like her personality. - And there's much to do in a romance with a soldier! A lot to talk about hard choices and leadership, and following orders regardless of feelings - and even more because you are a member of her pride. Not to mention the problems and opportunities in a relationship when someone is in a position of power (like Sarah starts being the lider of the pride and then the lider of the Brotherhood of Steel) and then this position slowly changes (by the end of the game the wanderer is a almost an armed messiah - or devil). - There's a lot of room to include a humor and a little flirting with her in The Waters of Life (a little less here) and The American Dream (that can have all kinds of stuff). It could have a new short quest in between HERE, to delve deeper into friendship and respect about each other in many ways. Then after Take it Back! and watching you sacrifice yourself, she can start to admire your actions. Take it back is the turning point and also when you join the pride, so it really starts here. After that she can become your companion and you could romance her and talk about many things. And in Who Dares Wins she shows up again to your life - and if you had fight in the middle of this? She comming to save your ass, even after the Fallout? Explosive! Pun intended. Lots of potential here. Lot's of potential. - Of course it could only work if you have good karma. She would kick you out if you become neutral. - Unless you want a tragic history about how she slowly discovers how evil you are becoming and COMES FOR YOU, to finish things once for all and save wasteland. Because she has to, because you were a member of her pride, because she loved you. - But i really want someone to clean the mod, fix the bugs and make this compatible with Sarah Lyons T-51b ( https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/23645), since it's just a great mod and i think she should have a nice armor. - And i can't do this alone. I got to end of Broken Steel main quest and, yes, works as supposed to, Elder Lyons line to allow Sarah's recruitment and Sarah's recruitment lines were all there, and the voice lines are there much as on a vanilla companion, even get some lines you would ask non companion Sarah. So in 2022, endorsed and very well pleased by the outcome and the work put in by the dev. Should note that I am using FO3 redesigned and its related patch for the Sarah Lyons companion mod and also installed both companion mods and patch near the very start of a new playthrough. I tried seeing if this mod and patches would work on an old save, which is a pretty much completed playthrough of everything in the vanilla game, and it didn't.
Not sure if it's just me, but when I ask her to follow me she agrees...and then walks away and doesn't follow me. I don't have any companion mods installed, so I'm a little confused here.
Is there any way to make her use some weapon other than laser rifle ? Guess I could take all MFC's from her inventory, but that means she can't use plasma rifle.
This is not a reply to you, as this is from years ago, but to the general public. If one goes to Sarah in the GECK, you can remove the laser rifle add script in her follower script. I did this, and then gave her a unique plasma rifle.
I'm having a problem, I can't get her to leave me alone lol. Every time I tell her to wait or I tell her she's fired, she says alright, but she keeps following me anyway. Does anybody know of any conflicts with other mods?
That mod is a copy of this one anyways, it even says it in the description.

I installed this mod, however, I noticed no apparent changes to Sarah Lyons (I was mainly interested in extended RP options rather then companion option, since this mod allows you to recruit her too late for it to be practically useful anyway).
Her dialogue during the first meeting and later in GNR building appear to be unchanged, and to drive the point home that something isn't right: her name is still Sentinel Lyons, rather then Sarah Lyons as it was supposed to be changed by this mod.
Is this supposed to be this way, and changes to Sarah are supposed to happen only later?
Or does this mod require starting a new game to work properly? (Hard to imagine why it would, but still I thought I'd ask that just to make sure.)
I can't imagine any mods that would coflict with this one: the only other mods remotely affecting Sarah that I have are Lyons Pride Power Armor Chest Decal ( http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=8792 ), which shouldn't cause any conflict since it only adds an extra texture to her armor, and GNR Building Redux ( http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=16938 ), which is explitely stated to not affect Sarah or any of her teammates.
This is late, but it is mainly meant for the general public, and not just you.
Sarah is meant to be Sentinel Lyons before Broken Steel. However, she is changed to Sarah Lyons after Broken Steel (I assume the mod author did this to symbolize a bond/friendship thing).
P.S. Sentinel Lyons pre-Broken Steel and post-Broken Steel are 2 different NPCs, hence how the mod author pulled the name change off.
