Tried this mod out. My computer isn't the greatest, but I literally had a 40fps drop in some areas of Megaton. A shame really, since the mod looks awesome ingame.
It does affect fps, as do all lighting mods, though results vary depending on pc & settings. But meh, I hate Fellout anyway so Megaton looks great as it is at night without this. All I'm seeing with mods like this is areas that are dark are further exacerbated to my eyes by brighter areas that are now too brightly lit - which might to some look "realistic" but on my monitor just makes a lot of things harder to see, and overall less easy on the eye. Plus a couple of other mods (like Gadsen Armory) add fire barrels or other bits of light, and I always add a couple of lanterns (and plants etc) myself vis console commands. But if you use fellout I guess you need this fix...
I just had an idea. Why not place a lightsource near the entrance of megaton? Then players will get the idea the bugged light seen on the ground comes from this light source!
Nice atmosphere BUT: There is a strange bug right after the gate where looking around causes a patch of ground to change 'lighting'. It goes from light covered to shadow covered depending on where I look, and the same glitch happens at the first (the small yellowy blue one not the red one) Brass Lantern sign. The Brass Lantern one I can live with but it's very noticeable at megaton's entrance and it happens whether the lights are on or off.
