Dude, this is exactly the mod I was looking for. The original design bothers me so much (I know it shouldn't) it puts me off a bit, this looks much more believable. Great Mod.

One thing that's frustrating is when using it with RH-ironsights, the rear and front sight don't line up and the shot lands above the front sight. I understand this likely wasn't made with RH in mind, but it would be my dream mod otherwise, love the terrible shotgun

no offense, but vanilla looks much better, and actually looks more like a shotgun and not like a ppsh or some sh*t

You've never looked at a drum-fed shotgun before, have you? The ejection port can't be 2 feet away from the chamber. The vanilla shotgun could never actually function in real life.

Haha. Good luck, the Fallout 3 combat shotgun cannot function. The Magazine is too far forward to feed rounds to the chamber. Let's say that this is done through some strange mechanism. Okay. Here's the other problem though... there is no room for a bolt to slide behind the ejection port. The shells can't even eject. As the spring from the tube pushes them down, the spring would put itself in the way of the magazine so it wouldn't feed either way. The whole reason the lower tube on a shotgun can be used as because you push the shells into the spring to back it up.It looks like it was designed by someone who knows what each part of a gun does, but otherwise has no idea about how those parts actually work.

experiencing big problems trying to get this mod in my game: "Error registering this mod: Better Looking Combat Shotgun - Better Looking Combat Shotgun now with working full autoError: Access to the path 'C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\Temp\NexusModManager\mxfbm223.bjt' is denied."

I want this mod, but something won't let me have it.

Thanks. I didn't ever want to change the shotgun's looks too much from vanilla, nor replace it with a modern "real-world" weapon. I used one of the City-Killer replacer mods for a while but it just looked too new and well-made, even with retextures, yet the ludicrous design of the default FO3 shotgun just irked me more and more to the point I stopped using it. So I'm very glad that I found this, which keeps the grungy "crapsack world" aesthetic of the original while making the design more practical and credible. This works really well in my game, it looks the part and functions fine as a replacer. I'm using the reduced damage version, which is still more than adequate for when things get up close and personal.

    Why change the audio too?

I liked the vanilla audio and I can't edit it back in Fo3Edit

Finally. The vanilla Combat Shotgun was a great weapon gameplay-wise, but as someone who was once described as a "Gun Nut", the placement of the magazine has always bothered me.

I love this mod but i am getting a dry fire effect with the auto version. When i fire the first shot the animation works but the weapon does not fire a shot until the second round is fired.
