About this mod

Adds added realism thru the needto eat, sleep and drink. Also changes behaviour of chems to simerlar behaviour and stats as in the original Fallout games.

This mod aims at enhancing the survival feeling in Fallout 3 but still tries to maintain game balance (to a point).

Only major bug that i know is that you can't add the plugin to a current save game where your character is suffering from withdrawals or have active chems, as this will screw up your stats in a major way. Be sure to cure withdrawals and let chems durations run our before adding to your current game.
If you still manage to mess up the stats despite my warnings then i can be fixed via console fairly easily using player.modav command.

The mod will not activate in a new game untill you have left the vault. It will also pause and reset your energy, water and sleep stats at simulator areas like the vault 112 sim and Anchorage simulator.

The DLC version requires Operation Anchorage, The Pitt and Broken Steel DLCs.

Non DLC version included as well.

This is a fairly big mod so i may have forgotten to add some minor details in ReadMe. Please let me know in comments if theres a inconsistency in Readme.

* You get an empty water bottle after drinking from a water bottle. You can then use it to refill water from any water source.

* Food no longer gives any HP. But they are now essential to your survival. So eat plenty!

* Food Sanitizer now reduces rads on food and water instead of increasing health gained.

* Natural rad recovery to compensate for the increased rad gain you will get thru eating and drinking.

* Cannibal Love! Cannibals are able to recover a great deal of energy and fluids when they eat someone. Yummy!

* Hazy vision and random chance to pass out when suffering from extreme dehydration, hunger or sleep depravation.

* No more instant healing from sleep. Your health and limbs heal naturally over time instead.

* Doctors Boost Perk! Doctors and your infirmary now give you a big boost to natural regen instead of instantly healing you.

* No more Stimpak spamming! Stimpaks now heal over time instad. And using more than 4 stims at a time will cause you to overdose on them, damaging you over time.

* Classic Addictions! Drugs behave similarly to Fallout 1 & 2, greatly increasing durations and giving you the ability to recover from addictions over time.

* Chemist! Chemist perk works very diffrently now. It now doubles the effects of chems, but halves the duration. It does not affect the after-effects thou.

* Timescale set to 10 (default: 30)

Installation
==============================

Before installing to a current game be sure to cure any addictions and letting chem durations run out before installing the mod.
Just put the plugin file in your "Fallout 3\Data" folder. Also be sure to not rename it to something else as this may cause problems.

Just be sure to load this before any other mods using the Fallout Mod Manager.
As you may have guessed this mod is not be very compatible with any other mod that adds custom food, water or chems.

Uninstallation
==============================

Before removing the plugin from game you have to type "set gUnInstallMod to 1" in console. A message should eventually pop up letting you know mod has been uninstalled.

Once you have received the uninstall message in game then it’s safe to save your game and remove the plugin.

If you reinstall the plugin again at a later date then you have to type "set gUnInstallMod to 0" in game after installing the plugin on a save game that has previously run the plugin.

Pausing
==============================

You can temporarily pause the degrading of energy, water and sleep by using the console command "set gPauseWS to 1". This will stop the timer and partially revert food and water back to their original behaviour.
You can resume timers by typing "set gPauseWS to 0" in console.
This is used to pause the mod at the beginning of the game in the vault, and at the vault 112 simulator area and Operation Anchorage simulator.
This can be useful to modders or those running custom mods that take place in a area lacking food, water or beds.

Known Bugs
==============================

Doctor curing addictions earlier than 24 hours. Will fixed for next version.

Installing the plugin to a current game where your char is suffering from withdrawals or have a chem buff active can screw up your characters stats. Be sure to cure any addictions your char has, and letting chems duration run out before you install the mod.


When reporting bugs, be sure to check so you can repeat the bug before you bother me with it. Also provide a copy of your save game and detailed explanation of how to repeat bug so I can figure out what’s wrong.
Also, disable all other mods and check if the bug still appears. If the bug doesn’t appear then it’s a compatibility problem, which means it's not MY problem.

Hunger, Thirst and sleep
-------------------------

The Hunger, Thirst and Sleep features are based on the HungerThirstSleep mod made by Jaynus but the script works differently from his to ensure accuracy and stability on the timers.
You basically have 24000 calories of energy and 7200ml of water and 120 hours of sleep. Each hour you drain 100 calories, 100ml water and 1 hour of sleep.

Energy: 24000 calories - drains 100/hour
Water: 7200 ml - drains 100/hour
Sleep: 120 hours - drains 1/hour

When you reach 0 energy or water you DIE! So be sure to eat and drink regularly. You can survive with 0 hours of sleep, but I wouldn’t recommend it.

You recover energy by eating food. All food has a calories stat that tells you how much energy it recovers. You can also regain energy as well as water by eating corpses with the Cannibal perk (yum!).
Hunger will also affect your natural regen.

Water bottles are now reusable. When you drink from a bottle you will gain an empty water bottle. A menu will appear next time you drink from a sink or other source of water if you have one or more empty water bottles, which allows you to refill them.
The type of water bottle you gain from refilling depends on the water quality of the water source you’re refilling from.

You recover 5 hours of sleep when you sleep in a bed.

You will not feel any effects from hunger, thirst or sleep until after 24 hours without satisfying any of the conditions.

You get visual warning in the form of hazy and blurry vision the more you let your conditions progress.

Reaching level 3 or 4 of any condition will cause you to pass out at random intervals. The paralysis effect lasts 10 seconds.

Level 3, every 5 to 10 minutes
Level 4, every 2.5 to 5 minuets

You also get random dizzy effects starting at Level 2 condition that happen every 3 to 10 minutes

Natural Regen
-------------

You don’t instant heal at beds and doctors anymore. Instead you naturally regenerate health over time.

The Fast Metabolism perk grants a 30% boost to regen. And Doctors give you a 1000% boost when you seek medical attention from them.

Your regen is affected by hunger. So eat up to keep your strength up!

Formula for regen is ( 0.05 * Endurance ) per hour. So with an endurance of 5 you would regen on average 6 HP per day.
You regen 10 times faster when sleeping.

You recover rads over time as well to compensate for the added rads you get from eating and drinking. An average character will gain about 11 rads per day from eating and drinking. (5 rads from food and 6 rads from drinking low rad water.) This will vary from what food and water you consume.
The formula for rad recovery is (0.05 * (Endurance +5)). A character with 5 endurance will recover 12 rads per day with that formula.

Food sanitizer
--------------

The food sanitizer now only removes 30% rads from food and water. The effect stacks with the Lead belly perk when drinking water.

Stimpak and RadAway redux
-------------------------

Stimpaks and RadAway work very diff now.
They are both heal over time with a duration of 10s.
The amount healed is the same as original only it’s over 10s instead.
If you use more than one at a time the duration will stack up. So taking 2 stims or RadAway will extend the duration to 20s but it won’t heal any extra hp per second
Using more than 4 stims at the same time will result in a overdose which will cause 15 damage per second for 10 s for every stim that extends past 4.

For example:
You can take 4 stims, but you have to wait at least 10s before taking another one or else suffer an overdose.

Chems and addictions
--------------------

All the classic chems and Med-X (now renamed to Morphine) have after-effects that happen after the initial chem effect has worn out.
Withdrawal effects don’t take effect until after the after-effects have run out.
Classic chems have also gotten a big boost to duration.

You will now also recover from withdrawals over time without visiting a doctor. This will take anywhere from 1 week to a month depending on chem.

Curing addictions from a doctor is no longer instant. It takes about 24 hours for the chems to fully flush out of your system. During this time you will have to suffer the withdrawal effects. Using any chems during this period will cancel the doctors cure effect.

Reusing a chem during it's after-effect with will cancel out the after-effect and reset the chem duration.
The Addiction duration starts ticking after the last after-effect ends on a chem.
