"The rifle uses cartridges of caliber .308, as well as a standard sniper rifle. Under characteristics it is worse, than a standard sniper rifle, because very old."
Actually according to Nukapedia's information: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Sniper_rifle_(Fallout_3)
"This sniper rifle (Meaning the one in Fallout 3) is an older model of the famed DKS-501."
Thought I would point that out, but otherwise, this is a great mod.
Edit: Also according to Nukapedia's information: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Sniper_rifle_(Fallout)
"A DKS-501 Sniper Rifle. Excellent long range projectile weapon. Originally .308, this one is chambered in the more common .223 caliber."
It does not use the same caliber as the Sniper Rifle does.
Another edit: .223 and 5.56mm bullets are almost identical and can be used vice-versa in any firearm.

lol no, not sure where you got that info from but you CANNOT use any caliber for any firearm that it isnt designed for or expect a fatal accident to happen. Although i will say you can safely use .223 (remington) in a 5.56x45 NATO firearm chamber, but not a 5.56x45 NATO inside a .223 remington chamber. please dont give out false info like that.
But you are right about the DKS-501, although the sniper rifle from Fallout 3 is supposed to be the original caliber model, the DKS-501 is indeed chambered in .223 remington.
Cool. I was actually looking for this. To some of the things brought up in here, according to the Fallout wiki, the DKS-501 was originally chambered in .308 but was rechambered to .223 because it was more common. So, you could if you wanted make it either .223 (5.56 if that's close) or .308.
As for overpressure problems from using a 5.56 as a .223; that's clearly not an issue in the Fallout 3 world, since it would be an even more significant problem to use a modern .44 Magnum round in a circa 1860 .44 Henry rifle, but the game does that.
Finally, I'm having a problem with the scope. I made sure the mesh was pointing to the right textures, but it shows up in game as a big white block. It's possible it's just my screwy computer, which causes other texture bugs as well. (I'm using it for modding, but I'll be using a better one for playing). If it turns out that's a problem on my end, or if I can get it fixed, I'll give a 10.
The texture and model are spot on. Stats, on the other hand, don't sound correct. Also, getting put on spawnlists would be a better idea. Criticism aside, it is the best looking DKS-501 mod out there.
