I need help. Pls solve my problem with nifskope. It won't open: https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/5091490-nifskope-wont-open-after-2-months/
I've done something wrong but i was at the step where you preview your 3d model in the normal map window but when i click on preview it closes and says:
The dying plug-in may have messed up GIMP's internal state. You may want to save your images and restart GIMP to be on the safe side."
please help but this is a great tutorial best one there is ive just mest up I have also tried installing gimp from many sources and many versions If you could help much would be appreciated -3dofanatic
i really want to read these tutorials, but every time i open it up in word it gives me some nonsense about "encoding and converting" and no matter what i choose, it never works.
Hey there, having a problem with the tutorial and/or blender. I've mapped the first face of the cube as per the tutorial but when I go to repeat the steps to map the remaining faces, the texture disappears and I'm left mapping in the dark so to speak. I can manipulate where the map vertices are and when I left click to anchor the vertex it updates the image on the model but I've got no texture to map on the right.
I've fiddled with various buttons and whatnot trying to get it to come back, including re-opening the texture but the only way to make it reappear is to backstep with ctrl+z. And that's obviously making no headway.
In addition, steps 19, 20, and 21 of that section (4.6.4.) are simply copies of each other, in effect having me open the image three times. Maybe that had something to do with it? I dunno, I skipped those and used the included pictures which had what I assume to be the correct steps as my first face is mapped, but after that I'm lost.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.
Edit: After playing with it more, I'm able to map the remaining faces from a texture instead of not seeing what I'm working with, but my previous faces aren't on the texture. I'm having to open the image each time to get it to show up because it's disappearing when I right click my model to select the next vertices to map. So if that's right, then I've got six UV maps now, which definitely isn't correct.
I may have tapped a hotkey during or after the first face was mapped and didn't realize it at the time I suppose. Still not sure what to do here though.
Anyway, I'll set this aside before I lose patience, come back to it later. Again, I appreciate any help in the matter.
Ok never mind I got it working.... but now when i try to export Mr. Block head it says that I cant export it unless all of the textures are UV, and 1 of them is supposed to be normal map. *would it be because I cant make minimaps*
