If you can't convert you're probably using Windows 7, or even Vista.
There is a "solution" on the Tesnexus page to get it working

I have the same problem as ryz866 and ringwall. Can't select the *.dds file or convert it. Is this anything to do with the fact I'm running Vista?

Would like to get this to work if at all possible.

    Thanks

    HV

This seems to be just me, but when I click on a .dds in the program, nothing shows up in the preview box, and it will not let me convert it. What's up with this program?

    Moderator Note:

While the file does exist on tesnexus, the sites are indeed separate entities, some fallout3 users never even look at the Tesnexus for anything.

In this case, it may be allowed for the convenience of our users.

Alternately, if you don't feel the need to convert the files, you can check out nVidia's DDS texture utility plugin for Photoshop:

    http://developer.nvidia.com/object/photosh...ds_plugins.html

Keeps the files as .dds while editing, and gives you many options for saving again with mipmaps, alpha layers, and different blending options.

    Good job though (^_^)

I have given this file a rating of 10

    Thanks a lot...
Is there a difference to this one: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=8698?

    Must have! <img class=">

Technically there's no real difference at all, both files are for DDS Converter v2.1! However, the one on TESNexus is the actual installation program while this one is simply an archived copy of the already installed folder. Also note that the one on TESNexus lists the correct author/creator, but for some reason, xflipsterx seems to think he/she can claim to be the author for this upload! Oh, you'll also find that it's already got a page on FO3Nexus: DDS Converter 2 at Fallout 3 Nexus which actually provides a link back to the one on TESNexus!

EDIT: 7 minutes after I posted the Author name was changed to the correct name! I don't think that will make much difference though, this may still be considered a duplicate upload by the site admins and may end up being removed. How hard can it be to perform a site search for DDS Converter to have found this was already on the site?
