Even with the main file, named "with static", I still have no static near Megaton, so I don't see the difference with the other versions. That's too bad. Fortunately, Immersive GNR Signal Boost seems to do the same than this mod, but the statics feature actually works, maintaining the immersion, so I'll be using that instead
not knocking this or anything, but this game is set in the era of staticy LPs & 45s, young folks in the day of the CD have no idea of what these old records sound like. i grew up in that era and the static adds ambience to the game.

@14thowell Yes, S.I.K. doesn't want to ignore that, it just enlarges the area where you receive GNR for the whole time until you'll have finished the Quest. There is still enough motivation left to do so.
Upped a Version "noise reduction only" ! Just what it says -> Reduced noise from 40% to 25% So you`ll have a better reception especially around Megaton and still a little static. The area where you receive GNR is the same as usual.
(Version "better range only" bites the dust and does no longer exists as of now)

e.g.: It makes no sense to receive GNR at your 10th birthday without leaving vault101 just by getting the PipBoy... This happens with every version of SIK which improves the range.
But receiving GNR everywhere could be a feature for some people, for others it might break the game. This Mod does not intend to fit absolutely into the storyline. I`m glad to get such an open minded comment like yours.
In my opinion there is no need for that radio static sound. First I tried only to lower it`s volume, but after some testing I decided to eliminate that static completely.

- added a version which improves the range but still has the static sound
- updated the files so that they should be NMM friendly to install
