    darkwater,

    Could you give a detailed list of what each esp does, please?

    eg.
    MegHouse.esp...
    Karma.esp...

    Thanks

      I uploaded a zip I've called v0.89; I had previously updated at least some of the files for personal use, but had never bothered uploading.

      Included in the zip, I've tried to re-organize the old list of changes by esp, explained in an appropriately named text file. I partly made the text file by going through the esp's with FO3Edit (useful if you want more precise info), and partly working from memory. But it's been quite awhile since I've worked on the files, so my memory is probably incorrect in a few instances. And I'd likely make more mistakes if I tried remembering precisely how the various game settings work.

      If I ever decided to play the game again, I'm sure I'd tinker with the files (again, if only for personal use); but I haven't really even thought of Fallout 3 in over a year.

      Thank you! An excellent mod (or collection of mod modules). Highly recommended.

      One last question... what does the Optional Encounters esp do?

      Thanks again. FO and NMA forever!

      I worked this out... the Optional Encounters esp adds more enemies to the GNR quest.

      I'm still using this mod all these years later. Highly recommended.

    I don't understand why this isn't endorsed more.
    I know I'm echoing Harper here, but I can't help but think it.
    Arwen's_realism_tweaks (or whatever it is) is very forceful and not open. If you open a door, you're done sneaking. Not too realistic.
    psycros is just complaining about game dynamic. That's why I always play sneaky characters, because it's a matter of hunting, instead of being hunted. And a game isn't going to incorporate hidden cameras or other real-world dynamic things, so sneaking is the trump card in most any game that uses FPS. (in oblivion i found it humorous that I could sneak up on the living dead)
    I haven't popped in your mod yet, I only just dl'ed it, but so far it looks fundamentally realistic, and I like that.
    Thanks man, abunch.

    Edit:
    Sneaking is way more realistic. The overall feel is way different, and I love it. Psycros obviously didn't download this.
    It makes me feel much more at home with the calssic fallouts. =)
    Thank you, very much good sir. (or ma'am)

    EDitEdit: Oh, but the carry weight is still vanilla. Every stat, even for DLC items (not too sure but I think so) is changed, heck, pretty much everything is changed, except carry weight. I'll try monkeying with the load order for fix.
    Again, thanks.

    EditEditEdit: Oh, you're from No Mutants Allowed! No wonder this rocks!

    I am not sure why this mod is so un-commented and un-endorsed. I see only one complaint and that is not really specific to this mod as this mod is modular so use what you want.

    Downloading...

    I am really perplexed by all these mods that weapons more deadly and make AGI the only skill worth putting points into. Mods like this supposedly increase difficulty and realism but actually do the opposite. I get more AP from AGI, so of course I put every point in that. AGI also makes me better at sneaking. With the increased weapon damage I'm now a whirlwind of death. All I have to do is lay in wait or jump around a corner, pop a head or two, then immediately take cover to recharge points (and heal if needed) - you can do this forever. Meanwhile INT is the main factor in how quickly you can increase physical skills! The dumbest guy in the world can become an excellent athlete or sniper, so this has never made sense to me. I'm guessing there's no way to change this except through some real ingenious FOSE work, but most of the "realism/challenge" mods just seem to amplify vanilla's bad logic. Sure, some will say, "but your going to be hurt more" and that balances things. Well, not really, because I can heal non-stop, lay traps, repair stuff, switch weapons, snipe more intelligently, etc. Bottom line: put most of your points into AGI, a couple into INT, most of your skill into small guns and lockpick, take perks that boost science and medicine, and you're pretty much unstoppable. I think that Bethesda subconsciously meant this to be the character you played and wrote the game around it.

    Removing all the loot from unlocked boxes also makes no sense. Many of those containers are in deadly dungeons that nobody may have penetrated yet, or that the inhabitants use for storage. Of course, the reduced caps and lower sell prices really don't hinder anyone because you never need to buy anything anyway. I've played the game three times now with many different overhauls and mod setups. The only thing I've ever had to buy was ammo occasionally (and Radaway once). Nothing you can buy is better than the drops you get. You might run low on rare ammo but that's about it. Probably the one thing that really does increase difficulty is finding less drugs.

    You know what I'd love to see? A *REAL* realism mod. One in which:
    unless your near a damaged reactor, radiation is only found inside buildings, typically at low levels;
    a single head crit from a firearm kills any living thing smaller than a supermutant;
    missiles easily penetrate armor but have only small splash damage;
    only power armor or special fire suits have flame resistance;
    lasers are ridiculously accurate, do moderate damage, crit often and burn through ammo quickly;
    any crit from a blade has a good chance of causing a damage-over-time bleed effect, and any crit from a firearm has a high chance of crippling...and so on and so on.

    WickedTrain,

    There shouldn't be any weight for bottlecaps - I've never tried altering the weight there.

    I'm not sure if you're talking about other mods, what you're guessing my mod will do, or if there's an actual issue on that count.

    Its a good thing its PC where I can adjust the weight limit hiher to over 1500 lbs. and my character still loads down. The rest seems ok but weight on bottlecaps, etc - I think not. The things in the game are heavy enough.
