I absolutely LOVE this weapon, but I've been having one smallish problem with the secondary: I can get the key to work and all, the secondary version of the weapon works just fine, but when I press it again to switch back to the gatling and I press fire, the game proceeds to crash.
Been touching up on your scripting for it, but I can't seem to find the problem >.< (As I'm a total noob)
Its easy to make a leveled list for a weapon yourself. Open up the GECK, go to LeveledItem list, find a similar weapon you want to use as a template (not necessary, you can make a template from scratch, but it's time wasted, easier to use one already there, then just rename it, to make a new file).
In my case, I wanted to make this weapon appear on big gun using Enclave troops. So first, i found the "CondEnclaveGatlingLaser" file, opened it, replaced all the Gatling Lasers inside, with this gun, renamed it to "00CondEnclaveGatlingPlasma" (I like to put 00 in front, to make sure my modded files get listed first in the lineup, easier to find if needed). Save the file with this new name. When prompted by GECK to "make a new form", say yes. Do NOT replace the current form. You don't want to overwrite your Gatling Laser form. Thats the first part done. Second part, open up the "WithAmmoEnclaveGatlingLaser" file, replace the "CondEnclaveGatlingLaser" file inside it, with your new "00CondEnclaveGatlingPlasma" file, then rename the "WithAmmoEnclaveGatlingLaser" to "00WithAmmoEnclaveGatlingPlasma". Also save, and say yes, when prompted to make a new form.
The last step is to add your new leveled item form, to the actual NPCs you want to spawn with it. In this case, I picked the "EnclaveWeaponBigGun" file, which governs what weapons can Enclave Big Gun soldiers spawn with. Open up the file, it should contain the "WithAmmo" files for the Gatling Laser, and the Minigun. So just add your new "WithAmmo" file for this weapon. Save. Now, Enclave Big Gun soldiers will have a chance to spawn with either a Minigun, a Gatling Laser, or this weapon.
And done! You can use the same method to add this weapon (or any other mod weapon), to any NPC groups you want.
Oh yea, don't forget to edit the skill dependency on the weapon itself, in the "weapon" list in GECK, to use BigGuns skill, not EnergyWeapons, like the modder did. You don't have to, of course, but it is a big gun, the same class of weapon as the Minigun, so it made sense to me. And add EnergyResist to Resistances area, just to keep it consistent with all other Energy weapons.
It would be nice if such an advanced weapon were added to the enclave soldiers leveled list. They are the only soldiers in game that use plasma weapons. In fact BOS begin to use plasma weapons when they take it back from enclave soldiers.
