thaths right but when you have broken steel en take the Warmonger perk give you all schematics you either get V3 and this isn't a bug the max level of schmetic is v3 even you can indeed find 4 they 4 the wil never give an effect look at http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_3_cr..._of_a_schematic

Rock-It launcher and bottlecap mine are each supposed to go up to v4 schematic, not just 3 like the others. Also, I found 3 more "macguivers gift" boxes in a stack in the national archives building somewhere, In the large room with all the bookcases.

So does this mod break quests where the schematic is a quest reward? "Temple Of The Union" quest springs most easily to mind.

That - that is strange. I haven't been able to duplicate it myself. Was this with a new game or an existing game?

Right, you have to sort of take them out of the box and then put them back in the box. I'm trying to find a way around it, but currently that's the best way to do it.

Or you could just type "coc testqaitems" without the "" in the console and you'll have a mailbox full of all schematics if you have mod conflicts.

When the schematics don't upgrade, the extra copies stay in your items list. Put them back in the box and collect them again until they upgrade all the way to version 3

Yeah, it does totally take out the fun of finding one. But I was on my fourth play through and I literally knew exactly where I had to go to get all of the schematics. And I did that first, since I wanted to play a character who used nothing but invented weapons. Then I realized that this would be a lot easier for folks who wanted to play the MacGyver character.
