I was about to download this but changed my mind when I read this
( HEAT needs 50 repair skill
WEIRD needs 65 repair and science skill )

Yeah i really do not give a damn about repair. An i'll explain why.The idea of repairing an item should be simple. If you ever owned a gun or AK47 you should know taking a weapon apart is easy.Keeping it clean is also easy. But to say.Weapon is in Poor condition. Then clean your weapon. That simple.Repair is a different category. If you find a Broken gun it should not take but one part from that gun to replace into a your broken gun. From that you would have a NEW gun.An chances of it falling apart after a few uses is Impossible.

    So my response is this.

The repair system in the game is garbage.Unless your gun has melted from the explosion of the Atom bomb itself your weapons are fine.It takes a intense heat to melt tempered steel. So finding a weapon should always be in good to new condition. So the ( items found in this condition :system ) is broken.

Now i would talk about Ammo but that is a different subject. What i need is that system removed. When i find an item it should be in new condition.Having dents in it should not be regarded as in poor condition. Thus New.

What i need is a mod that just flat out puts gear in new condition. When i equip gear it should be CND 100%.Please add this mod to the game. The old system is wrong an broken.Fixing a gun is as simple as finding another gun like it an taking the guns apart an putting them back together. Most of the time it just requires in game terms a wrench and Hammer.Thats it.Not 10 guns equal to one working new gun.

I really like the sound of this, but it's a shame it's not been updated for a while.

I believe it should be possible to remove usable parts from a weapon, in the same way you remove parts from a car to use on another car, instead of using the whole item in one hit.

If im scavenging items from the wastes, I dont wan tto be trying to carry 50 rifles with me, I'd instead take the parts I need and leave the rest (recycling.)

As another user suggests. Using boxes is a bit of a pain, needing to drop boxes from our inventory, to use and recycle weapons we pickup. Instead wouldnt it be possible to use FOSE to enable a hotkey that can be used on an item that is placed on the ground to automatically recycle it into random parts?

I think your premise on the vanilla repair is a bit flawed. While it is an abstraction for item repair, two weapons don't become one. To use your *car* example, we have junk yards. While an almost completely wrecked 1975 pontiac is almost useless, you can still perhaps use an uncracked windshield, on your 1975 pontiac with a shattered windshield.

hello, nice mod... actually i am already extending it to repair a bunch of custom mod weapons but PLEASE add physics to the toolboxes so we can neatly place them in our houses! and oh... is it to dificult to avoid DROPPING the boxes before using them? cant we activate them from the inventory?

a headsup, there is a bug while recycling bb guns the menu closes

BIG question: why do you need a PERK to make the boxes work? isnt it enough to give a boatload of caps for them? as others have said, remember there are ONLY 20 perks you can normally select... we'll be in touch as soon as i polish my weapons pack.

Most repair mods are divided between all weapons or all armors. I would really like to use this mod, however, because it does not do melee weapons yet, it will be incompatible with the mods I would use to fill the blank, because those also affect gun repair. Filling in for the armor half is easy enough.

Please, add melee weapons to the list, if only as a temporary "melee weapon parts"/"melee weapon recycler"

EDIT: Gah...WTB delete button. Completely forgot that perks can be 'added' without using perk points.

You can use Perks to add buttons to menus. Check out the Cannibalism Perk to see how. =)

That can easily work, but is more of a hassle for the end-user. There are tons of perk-releated mods already (and not enough perk points to use), and uninstalling a perk mod requires a lot more effort on the user's side.

just to give someone an idea for making a mod, how about a gun cleaning kit instead of replacing the parts of the guns?
