    I personally do not believe this is necessary, because mentats, for example, already boost intelligence based skills by the amount of 10. No need for the additional extra kick, even though this might simplify the game just enough for a wide range of audience to enjoy it.

    Tried it a little myself. Feels very satisfying.

    • Ingestibles do not clutter anymore. I use them intensively: alcohol, food, drugs, stimplacks, everything.
    • Has to choose whether use stimpacks or pay for doctor services.
    • Barter is on the right spot. I keep accumulating money by selling junk but not that fast so I can hire Jericho after a day of scavenging. At the same time I have to pay for some small services here and there (healing, addition, radiation) if needed. So revenue and expenses are more or less balanced. I have to scavenge to maintain my bank balance.
    • Close range combat feels more powerful at the very beginning of the game. That is as designed because it is also more dangerous against non ranged opponents. That gives player normal trade-off between spending health/food or ammo. Besides, it is not difficult to raise ranged skill to 25 pretty quickly if one desire to get better at ranged combat. Tagging the skill would do too.
    • Ingestible effect on skills is amassing. Mentats raising my lockpick and science skill to the next level without any special calculation - yummy! Buffout for close range combat is neat. Blood pack for long ranged - great! The key point here is that these ingestibles get consumed at higher rage and not stockpiled anymore so I had to search for more.

    Negative things.

    • Increased local map charting radius works exceptional indoor. No need to stick my nose in every little hole to draw a map. There is a problem with it outdoor, though. It may temporarily place some dark squares around player location. Getting out of this location restores map. I didn't know how to avoid it. Looks like programmatic limitation when radius is increased.

    Companions.
    Hiring companions still breaks the game. Making it exceptionally easy and not forcing me to spend food/ammo. They start stockpile again.
    I found the solution in "Increases Spawns" mod which does exactly the thing: forces to spend more food/stims/ammo/drugs. It also has a positive things on the game with companions. Now player need to make sure they are not die rushing into the swarm of giant ants.

    Interesting. Ill test. Tracked. Love mods like this to tweak things.
    One suggestion is to balance against the UFP. In xEdit a few ingestibles can be "fixed" Minor.

      What is UFP?

      What do you mean by xEdit a few ingestibles can be "fixed" Minor? Does it mean I can change parameters without overriding other mods modifications?

      With it you can see the conflicts between your mod and others. In this case UFP. Which is a big patch that fixes a ton of original fo3 bugs

      This is already based on UFP and all contemporary patches. And I am using both GECK and FO3Edit.

    I would keep the SPECIAL increases for the chems since otherwise it makes it so the only way to boost your stats for SPECIAL checks is wearing only some pieces of clothing.

      That is still there. I have not disable anything, just added more effects.
