Cool idea. But note lore-wise ED-E wasn't sent from Adams AFB until sometime after the outbreak of fighting between Enclave and BoS at Project Purity (at which point ED-E's development and other projects were halted in favour of Hellfire Armour work). All of which means it couldn't possibly be in Springvale when the player first emerges from 101, but only found somewhere during the events of Broken Steel.
Ed-E turns on me and starts attacking me whenever his health gets to a certain percentage. I've had this happen with some other follower mod in the past. Anyone else experiencing the same thing?
Hello, I do not have the option to tell ED-E to leave or even wait somewhere. Is this as designed or is there a problem on my end? I just added it after completing the MQ according to the lore note below and he has been a great addition so far, so it won't be a deal-breaker anyway. Thanks!
I also removed the Illinois plate, and really like the idea that ED-E just began his journey west and accompanied the LW for a brief period, I don't even need some sort of side-quest or justification for it. My character at first suspected the bot to be the Enclave keeping an eye on them after Raven Rock, but quickly figured something else was up due to ED-E being so helpful.
I agree with the note that he should either wait in Springvale or approach you with some branching beep dialogue rather than the player character going "sure bud" with no context. Maybe he could only spawn after MQ completion as well, but honestly floating timeline means much clarification isn't needed. It's a mod. And I love the mod. Thanks again!
What was changed in the update? Does he still go hostile when he dies and did you manage to fix the sound package? Does he just follow you around or does he have dialogue where you can tell him to wait and stuff.
for some reason he's not healing after a fight for me.
he's set essential.. so I guess he can just keep getting knocked out..?..
he has no 'wait' command
You don't have to go looking for him this sucker will track you down I kinda wish it was more organic then being followed as soon as you leave the vault.. But if you're going to stick with that I would at least have him open dialog on his own like he's asking for help.
When ED-E "dies" (I have the essential companion's mod.) to an explosive, like a mine, grenade, or explosion of some kind he goes aggro to everyone, including the player unless you click on him in the console while he's downed and resurrect him. Then he'll return to normal.
I made this more lore friendly by modifying the texture to remove the Illinois license plate. You can download it here: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/26164/
Super cool mod. It even works with the ED-E retextures you find on FNV's Nexus.
I do have a slight problem though, ED-E doesn't know the term SPACE, Lol. What I mean by that is his follow distance is very, very, short and when you stop to do something, he hovers directly beside, or behind you, knocking you out of 3rd Person. Any way you could fix that?
