I haven't tried it, but I'm interested in the question, if you only take the nif file from the mod file, without esp., will shishkebab be displayed without a tank?
All the ESP does is marking the shiskebab as not occupying the backpack slot. With the model but no ESP, shishkebab will have no visible tank, but will be causing power armors and such to not display their backpacks either.
My only criticism of the mod is that I think you may be ignoring how the weapon is supposed to work. It's a makeshift melee weapon made out of junk with a gas tank as a fuel source for the flames. You basically break the realism of the concept by modding out the gas tank. But then I've never really had that mutch of a problem with breaking reality for the sake of making a new weapon or item. I only have a problem when breaking reality screws up your gameplay. Such as have to jump to get over a 2 inch gap in flooring or open a dor and box yourself into a corner by doing so. Now if someone would only make a mod to fix that nonsense we'd have it made.
I did say that the mod isn't meant to be realistic...
Perhaps we wouldn't be having this issue and the tank would be a lot more acceptable if Bethesda did their job right and actually included some kind of hose or whatever connecting the weapon to the tank. But as it is, it just makes no sense whatsoever either way - you're basically running around with a flaming sword that has no direct fuel source, all while wearing an inexplicable and redundant gas tank on your back that pretty much screams to all the raiders out there "SHOOT AT THIS TO MAKE IT EXPLODE".
This is a game where humanity is under threat from an endless army of incredible hulks with guns, people can take 10 bullets to the face and be only somewhat injured, and if you're mortally wounded, all you need is drugs and junk food. Why in the living f*#@ are people complaining about their flaming Attack on Titan swords not being realistic enough?
My characters entire hand is just gone... Installed the gloveless and tankless version and I did it correctly (downloaded file, unzipped it, put file in data.) did I do something wrong?

I see, thanks.

There isn't even a hose connecting from the backpack to the sword if you're going to complain about realism, complain about that
MADE MY DAY x*D
nice job
If it really bugs some people, just pretend the sword is doused in flamable liquid from the tank and then set on fire.
