Error has occured:XD3_INVALID_INPUT /* invalid input/decoder error */
Error Explanation: It means the source file is different. It's checksum doesn't match the one patch was made for so it cannot be patched. One or more of your Fallout 3 ESM files are different from the originalFallout 3 ESM files v1.7.0.3 or higher.
What To Try:
Close all programs that have your ESM files open with
Verify integrity of your game
Re-install your game
In case you're wondering if there's differences between each Steam, GOG, Epic ESM English FO3 v1.7.0.3 or higher:
All identical and I tried the Patcher installer with all 3 versions successfully.
Guys follow the top sticky post for the XD3_INVALID_INPUT. I did a completely fresh install and still got this error and even though it was a fresh install when i verified the integrity of the game files it found 7 corrupted files, after that the patcher worked perfectly.
I understand that this mod does a lot more than that, but does it make cleanig your esms with xEdit redundant? Cleaning with xEdit is doing really fine and we all do it for obvious reasons.
But after cleaning the esms are different und the patcher stops with the known error message (see sticky). But after using the patcher on vanilla esm-files - is cleaning with xEdit after patching the untouched files still nescessary/possible?
I feel like I should warn everyone who installs this and also wants to mod Fallout 3 with the GECK. While using the GECK I encountered an error every time I tried making any plugin changes and saving to a new plugin:
This happened even with the Geck Extender installed. While the plugin would still technically save it would have weird cell records and would cause a freeze every time I tried to view the plugin in xEdit, thus making it effectively unusable. Thankfully I had backed up my ESMs before installing this mod, so when I restored my original ESMs, I was able to save my plugins in the GECK with no problem.
A Geck problem. Recommend posting Geck issues at the Geck Extender mod.
I don't encounter a "freeze" in XEdit. Also something you should report to XEdit. The extra WorldSpace records the geck adds can be removed easily in XEdit that I've been doing for many years. Also you can use the auto clean exe that comes with XEdit that cleans dirty records the Geck adds.
Well it's difficult to explain the extra worldspace records issue I was seeing without an image, but basically I was getting worldspace records right above the file header in xedit. I also tried that auto clean and that didn't help at all. I'm not sure if I can explain it any better without posting an image, but I have also reported this on the Geck Extender mod.
Either way, I still think people should be aware of this for now.
I couldn't reproduce. Loaded up the ESM Patcher ESMs. Made a script, interior cell, and Wasteland WorldSpace edits. I did experience the Assertion Error like usual.... Geck issue. Loaded in XEdit and don't see what you're talking about.
I keep trying the posted advice and have tried multiple times on fresh installs, verified file integrity, done before and after attempting FOSE, i really cant figure out why i keep getting the same "XD3_INVALID_INPUT" error. unless something in the background is messing with it that i don't know about i cant seem to figure out why this is refusing to work. any help would be appreciated EDIT: to clarify i do have NMM closed down as well as Steam when i attempt it. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game at least 5 times now to reattempt. im pretty clueless at this point
What do you think, how long would it take to translate this into German? Is it worth trying it myself or do you have some really quick methods to copy strings quickly? This mod is so essential and yet it’s limited to two languages for now.
Also interested in playing the German version with Updated Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch. Could smth. like the "egg translator" which can translate all english strings of the original game back into german be used or is it (much) more work?
Do all of the fixes in UUFO3 patch carry over to this or just some of them? Is there any list of the fixes implemented in this, or the fixes are whatever the description outlines?
I installed it and I'm looking for the mibi files I installed using the launcher, where would they be in the data folder? Or rather what would they be named?

Sorry and thanks for the answer and for your work with this patcher.
