It isn't really necessary to make them essential and note Jennings is already dead, and Reddin quickly dies as flavour during the GNR battle, so you mustn't mess with them, and some - Lyons, Gallows and Tristan are essential anyway.
After the battle for Project Purity where Glade, Kodiak, Dusk and Vargas can get killed (albeit very unlikely that many of them would), you don't have any significant interactions with them anyway - Vargas is meant to leave the game either way, and as for the three others they won't actuallly be out on any other missions (they'll just appear at certain times in the Citadel) so will be safe enough.
Interestingly, Gallows is essential because after completeing the main game, he was meant to offer the wanderer repeating recon quests, but it was cut, sadly. Also note Colvin is only at GNR and already essential. And Tristan, who isn't in any of those battles, is also essential, but can get crippled during a later raid on the Enclave and if so hewon't heal, but annoyingly heavily limps forever thereafter.

in the final big battle at Adams AFB, sadly, the Pride aren't actually fighting with you nor found fighting elsewhere during the battle - and Sarah only turns up afterwards to rescue you.
Hiya, this mod does not interfere with Jennings or Reddin, nor does it interfere with any scripts that would remove Pride members after Take It Back. It's completely safe to use.
If you don't want the others to be essential, that's just fine. I just like it that way.
