Slavery has always been a part of the fallout games since the beginning though. the post apocalyptic wasteland isn't a place of sunshine and rainbows, its a horrific, evil, unforgiving and gruelling place.
This isn't about slavery being in the game, but the game rewarding you for participating in it and white washing it to ignore how racist American slavery was, and is, it still happens in prisons.
@STMsystem801 You're a troll right? Fallout Slavery has as much to do with American Slavery as it does with the Trojan enslavement of the Greeks. The game rewards you because it is a ROLE PLAYING GAME that lets you play different roles and have fun while doing it. They are pixels on a screen.
It's not even 'modern slavery', here's a direct quote from the 13th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution: 'Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States'
Also what is even the problem with slavery being in this game? The wasteland depicted in Fallout is hellish, and a key component from the beginning of the series onward is resisting man's most vile temptations in a world without morals (hence, the Karma system), a world truly gone mad. It makes sense the game would reward (but also punish) the player for these actions, as there has to be an incentive to performing them, otherwise it's evil for the sake of evil. Besides, this game has nothing to do with slavery in America, slavery and forced labor has happened in society for thousands of years, continues to happen, and will likely never stop happening. It's also not whitewashing anything, people of all skin tones and ethnic groups have been enslaved, and that would especially happen in a world like Fallout, where no-one seems to care much about race.
After slavery was criminalized during the Civil War, I consider this to be the modern slavery of the U.S. Not "modern" as in within the last 76 years, Scandinavian countries' "prison" systems are most unlike slavery, reassuring that other countries hav a useless, depraved system. However, a more accurate word to "modern" wud be "legalized".
Whitewashing? LMAO the f*#@ are you on about? Oh are you mad they made a black man a slave owner? Grow the f*#@ up they're not whitewashing anything. They're clearly not saying slavery was good in any way. You do know that slavery existed for thousands of years and every major civilization engaged in it. Guess who put a stop to it? White people. Hundreds of thousands of white men died to stop slavery but don't let that stop you from sounding like a pompous ignoramus.
You constantly whining assholes are insufferable and nobody likes you except for other insufferable morons who think they know everything. Everyone else would be happy if you shut up.
@matronmalice70 Japan instituted the same "slavery is banned except as punishment for criminals" policy that the US has, all the way back in 1590. The first country to ban slavery outright was Haiti, with the ban on slavery there being in Article 2 of the country's constitution, established in 1804; over 60 years before the US.
To everyone who has responded to this disillusioned person and their supporters, you can hold them by the hand and literally show them, point by point, how wrong they are, they will still tell you, you're wrong. This is due to the heavy indoctrination received in school, college certainly, if not, high school then. This a mod that is not needed by anyone who understands life and history as it really is. Don't bother arguing about it, just don't use it.
Slavery makes perfect sense in the fallout world. Why would they take that out of the games? I think they have it in all the titles. Haven't played 76 though. What they need alot more of is sex slaves and prostitution in general. Thats the most obvious thing that would happen naturally in Fallout. You don't need an apocalypse for it. Just go to 3rd world countries and see for yourself.
Not gonna use the mod personally bc I'm fine with the base versions of the perks, but I do find it funny that the crowd who call people snowflakes are getting triggered over a mod that changes the names of a few perks, lmao.
I get the idea, but the gendered stuff is for balancing purposes. Some factions have more man and some more woman, so does the animals and mutants have their gender (in the object), if the perk doesn't say especifically that won't affect, it will make a difference in gameplay. It's bethesda thou, I would look it up if it's working
Don't stop there! It is necessary to correct the sexist dialogues of cannibals from Andale. This is unacceptable in modern society. The plot of the game uses ideas about the future of Americans of the 50s of the 20th century, but this cannot be an excuse for discrimination. Ha-ha-ha!
I get your intentions, but this kind of attitude is why fallout post new vegas has become a neutered rpg with a wacky theme that isn't allowed to take itself even slightly serious
Yup. No bad people allowed!!!!! We can't talk about weighty issues because people will whine so they play it safe. Fallout 76 is a great example of the pussification of the game. The Responders are the most annoying f*#@ing bunch of do gooder idiots. You can help the raiders but they're also neutered.
Actually 1. there are no Fallout games after New Vegas unless you count mods like New California. 2. the game calling it the 4th 1 runs counter to these goals only allowing perks to be a cis het. 3. this mod was made in 2022 so unless Bethesda has a secret time machine it couldn't have influenced them. that's how liniar events work. 4. Cinemoded Fallout is made by 2 queer anarchists and is the most RPG fallout experience tackling ideas such as rape, drug abuse, child murder and more.
Whilst I won't be downloading since Fallout 3 isn't that fun for me compaired to NV, this is great and the names are more fun such as child of science.
STMsystem801, what Daddy only became a kink word because kinky people made it a kink word, no-one in the real world thinks it's not an innocuous thing to say.
