No, you're not quite correct, and though I think some may prefer your mod's option, you're all just limiting the game for multiple playthrus.

The way the game works if played the way you describe, yes, it's much less-likely (at least on a first-playthru). But it is not extremely unlikely, and certainly not "stupid". And you can find your Dad by completing Moira's quest on Rivet which will at some point meet Dr Li and find out about Project Purity - going there and finding Dad's journals, and then vault 112. On my 2nd playthru, I got to GNR after meeting Lyons as normal. But before completing 3-Dog's quests, I then followed up Rivet's History and rescued Dad. I was just trying to do things differently for the sake of seeing how it played out. And thus, when I later finished 3-Dog's stuff I got a different chat with 3-Dog and the key as an unexpected reward. I was pleased the game had this built-in replay variation - one which you're intentionally and needlessly part-breaking. Indeed, even just mentioning the key and making this mod is ruining the replay surprise for gamers modding-up for a 2nd playthru.

My, aren't we a bit egotistical? You can't just not download the mod, oh no. You have to let me and everyone else know that actually, we're playing the game wrong. We're all supposed to play the game your way.

This mod is for people who wanted to get into the cache, but missed the opportunity. If you don't need it, or you don't want it, don't use it. It's as simple is that. Nobody is forcing you to use it. That's literally how mods work. You know that, right?

Frankly, I think you made this post just to gloat. "Well, I found it on my second playthrough! If you didn't find it on your own, you don't deserve to have it!" I honestly can't think of any other reason to get so bent out of shape over such a small, harmless mod.

But, you know, enjoy your "built-in replay variation." For those of us who aren't interested in a very obscure, insignificant "replay surprise," we will use this mod to remove it. Because, you know, That's what mods are for. The sheer f***ing nerve of coming onto a website where people can modify their gameplay experience however they so choose, and telling them "no, you're playing it wrong!" You should be ashamed of yourself. There are mods that add all sorts of silly memes to the game, mods that give characters giant plastic balloon tits, mods that straight up kill your character when you install them or make the game unplayable on purpose. But oh, no, this is the one where you draw the line?

Posting mental diarrhea like this under random mods is streetyson's favorite pastime so don't take it too personal
He will most likely ignore your reply as well

I figured he was a troll, yeah. Was fun writing that reply, though.

Small, but very necessary addition for one "max playthrough", because I prefer to kill Three Dog. No conflicts, bugs or problems.
    Endorsement from me, UnrealSeptim.
Also, yeah, for anyone reading previous streetyson's complaint in this section, I must say that when initially I saw his comments on other projects, I really thought that he just tried to help or advise community and potential players. But one by one, seeing his more "controversial" points, "the final nail in the coffin" for me was his comment on Farms Of The Wasteland mod page. In short, streetyson insisted in reply to original creator that he should change ghoul's dialogue lines and position of farm in Underworld because (quote copied) -  "given how much Bethesda keeps rejigging all the lore, you shouldn't base things on a waterchip in FO1, nor one FNV ghoul who may have been lying,".
So, he actually approve broken/retcon lore from Bethesda's Fallout 4, without acknowledging that thousands of players and modders still want to "stay true" to original lore and world-building information from old titles.
Why the f I even wrote all that? Because I want to warn new or returning players to not follow or believe every streetyson's comments on every modification (sometimes he wrote reasonably good and helpful impressions, but it's not very common). I play-tested many quest mods which he also used and wasn't satisfied with and I had absolutely different experience, compared to his views (also in the technical aspects because he's clearly had a very weak PC setup at the time of playing some dungeon type mods).

You should improve the cache as well as it's really not that worthwhile otherwise.

Great mod. I wish some small mods that fix the lore like this exist more.
