It wouldn't have to be in a visual range to produce a visible beam. The beam could be the effect of blooming, which is a phenomena where the laser heats the air it's traveling through to the point where it turns to plasma.

I really like the concept a less-weathered laser weapon but the one in the screenshots looks a bit colourless. Same goes for your laser rifle as well. Then again, that could be down to the lighting in the screenshot, since your hands seem a rather unnatural colour as well. ">
Awesome mod. I missed the shiny organic shape of the original FO1/2 model laser pistol, this makes it look at least slightly tech.
But could someone change the numbers on the back of the gun? 10,000nm and 20,000nm are NOT visible wavelengths (methinks IR, heading toward uwave). For a red beam, should be like 550 and 600nm.
Oh and another thing if u could make it so when the weapons degraded it went from new to rusty, that would be truly epic cool, of course no CS can't just thought that could be really awesome.

for example; low=Rusty Laser pistol normal=Laser pistol high=Pristine Laser pistol
the point being that all the weapons you find in the wasteland won't be rusty, such as weapons looted from enclave soldiers. of course, this is out of reach without a CS and a fully functional .nif utility. ">
