Changelogs
Version 1.2.1
Incremented revision number to match Tale of Two Wastelands version where the majority of item removal had already been done.
Massively, dramatically, aggressively cut down on the available loot inside all Overpass-specific interiors. The overwhelming majority of the loot available in the laboratory was carried over from the original version.
Massively increased the amount of caps required to upgrade the Overpass.
Fixed incorrect non-persistent references in ruined guard shack.
Dropped the amount of purified water generated by the purifier.
Corrected position of activated purifier pump in water purification room.
Version 1.1
Fixed being able to retrieve the water chip before the appropriate stage during The Waters of Life.
Severely debuffed the Overpass's water dispenser. Water treatment plant now only gives out two purified waters daily (four if upgraded). (Gave out 6/16 purified waters previously)
Fixed Abbot's dialogue not allowing the player to exit the conversation.
Removed ownership of bed in the Overpass's water treatment plant.
Changed the bartender's shop inventory.
Version 1.0
Removed hundreds of dirty edits that the GECK likes to drop in.
Fixed numerous navmesh bugs. Completely remade all relevant interior navmeshes. This means that companions can now properly come onto the overpass with you. However, that said, I still do not recommend bringing your companions with you until you restore the overpass.
Cleaned up spelling and grammar errors.
Re-organized story structure to flow better.
Wrote dozens of new dialogue lines for the guards/scientists, as well as gave them all new AI packages that breathe a little life into this desolate space.
Changed dozens of editor IDs relating to this mod for organizational purposes.
Removed dozens of errant spaces in location/item/container names.
Bodies that were meant to show up in exterior cells no longer disappear.
Fixed texture issues on Laser Rifle upgrades.
Removed the automatic Ammo Sorter and Weapon Sorter from Jarrod's house. With all the different types of ammo/weapon mods out there now, they barely worked anyway. The relevant containers are still there for your convenience.
Closed off and removed the lab secret entrance. Barely used anyway.
Removed cars at the bottom of the overpass ramp due to issues with navmesh pathing.
Talk has spread quickly among the wasteland about a suspicious overpass running parallel to Arefu. During one quiet summer night, loud gunshots and screams of agony rang out from the area, only to fall silent just as quickly as whatever calamity occurred had started. To investigate seems to be a suicide mission at first, but regardless, you make a note to investigate at your own convenience.
The remastered version of The Overpass has made its return to Nexus Mods! In this mod, engage in a completely unmarked quest exploring a mysterious overpass near Arefu, piecing together the events that occurred prior to the Lone Wanderer's arrival.
(Pay attention to the notes; they will guide you through the quest.)
You can even fix up the settlement: clean up the buildings, hire new guards, add in new features, and make the overpass a small stronghold in the storm that is the Capital Wasteland.
This is the remastered version of The Overpass that I released in 2020. After a few months of deliberation, I decided that punishing the users for the August changes to file archival was unfair and pulling the files probably shouldn't have happened. (It was a move made in solidarity with other modders that pulled their content.) So I'm beginning the process of putting them back up.
Installation Notes: You do not have to have the original version of The Overpass to use this mod; this package is completely self-contained and is easily installable through your favorite mod manager (or a manual mod installation into your Data folder if you're feeling dangerous on this particular day!)
