I would LOVE this mod. If it was scripted to only apply AFTER the main quest. Or maybe after Oasis? Or both? Because then it would be a great way to show off how the wasteland changed.
Works as intended. I didn't have the patience to fiddle with the inis to get the trees' LOD to stop flickering, but I imagine it'd be great. A more stable, TTW compatible and color corrected version (grass looks almost lime green) would be a godsend, specially if, as others have suggested, the changes took place automagically after the events of the main quest.
Endorsed for simplicity, using vanilla assets and ease of install/uninstall.
Would you consider making a New Vegas version? I've tried some Greenworld types, but none of them look as good as this one. I think the way you can just walk through trees might be the reason yours doesn't lag compared to others as well. I'd appreciate it if you could at least share some tips on how to make my own.
10/10, no lag, a noticeable visual improvement, and it relies on vanilla assets so it's plug and play, with a painless removal process. It also looks great ported on a ps3, no landscape load errors from what I've seen. I like to travel HUDless and I am very pleasantly surprised at how unfamiliar parts of the world look, I'm about to roll a new Wanderer to truly appreciate this.
Then you clearly have no idea what the fallout lore is. You know what ATOMIC/ATOM Bomb is right? Yet Again. I could be wrong. But its a ATOM bomb. Trees may grow back. Just not super lush and filled with beauty.
There was a quest with a vault full of plants, growing even inside, based on that actual in game quest, this is very lore friendly, and quite possible...
Then you need to look at the Bikini Atoll, 70 years after testing. Or Chernobyl, 30 years after the meltdown. Nature comes back quickly and completely.
If anything, there would be more and bigger trees and way more green. It hasn't even been what, 5 years for Fukushima and it's already regrown. Chernobyl is pretty much overgrown too.
Flora and fauna seem to grow quickly. I'm not sure radiation has much if any effect on them. Even wildlife seems to come back, it's just humans can't handle it. But if radiation was really so bad, then there is no way the Wanderer or any other humans could be in the Wasteland.
The fallout lore would be wrong if no trees can grow back in any lush manner, but as others pointed out areas do regrow anyway. Point Lookout is regrown, as are vaults or Oasis area.
Fallout lore is that the first two Fallout games (and Fallout NV) occurred in a part of the world that is only partially green in modern times due to human intervention. Trees aren't going to grow back lush and filled with beauty in a limited-water region.
DC, on the other hand, was originally considered unfit for farming *because* it was so naturally wet.

It's like you never played Fallout 1, Fallout 2, Fallout: Tactics, Fallout: New Vegas, Fallout 4, or Fallout 76. Fallout 3 is the only Fallout title (cannon or otherwise) that has nothing but dead sticks for trees and doesn't take place exclusively in the desert. Even parts of FO1 were greener.
HOLD THE f*** UP. Where did you get the mod to smoke a cigarette with the smoking animation??? I have looked everywhere for a mod that adds animation for both fallout : NV and F3 but to no avail. TELL ME!! pls..
Edit: f*#@ me i looked it up and somehow found one even though i have search up multiple times over the week...wtf
