@ Tom I'm sure if you just contact someone from that, and explain about the mod you made , I'm sure they'd be fine, once they know you not making money from it , and would give their blessing to use anything from it in a mod , that way you've got something to fal back on about permissions
Yeah, it's why I had to port the.ranger armors and Remnants' armors to my fo3 from my NV game myself.
Not too hard, they just slightly changed the meshes breaking compatibility and you can change them back with nifscope.
Edited the textures with gimp (glow maps / glowing eyes and lights), but this step is unnecessary - just preference.
But, regardless, NV is a separate property requiring a separate license. Hypothetically, someone could not own NV and benefit from its content without paying if you distributed it here (but, why!? Go buy NV).
About the best you could do is some kind of batch edit everyone runs on their own NV folder that converts meshes and moves them as well as textures to their fo3 folder while renaming where required for file structure. But you can't direct port assets from FNV to FO3.
