Cool mod for immersive playthroughs! A small enhancement for players who prefer no tag would be to randomize the order of dialogue options, so you can't infer if the top ones are skill checks or not (I'm pretty sure they bias towards the top).

Very minute, but thought I would nonetheless suggest it :)

Edit: now that I think more about it, I think most players would want to have the "goodbye" option at the bottom, so you'd need to determine which choices would stay fixed and which would be included in the randomization. While I still think it would be awesome, I also see this small change becoming tedious to implement.

Cool, but how did you do the default? I don't understand.

Also, how do I install these kinds of mods?

The default will show [Speech%], hiding the actual percentage, if you want to hide the entire [Speech] tag, edit the ini setting from 0 to 1.
You should be using a mod manager such as Mod Organiser 2, if not you just extract the zip you download to your fallout 3 folder.

You edit the settings in ‘Fallout3/Data/FOSE/plugins/fose_speech_tags.ini’.

I get that I can hide the tag entirely with a simple ini setting, but I don't get how to implement the default.

Why do I need the Microsoft Visual C++ libraries exactly?

I just haven’t tested it without the libraries (since they come installed with New Vegas) and I compiled the plugin using them.

You can get the default by not changing the INI setting. i.e. bRemoveTags=0
