Entering vats with 0 ammo results in a glitch where your character keeps trying to fire (empty gun sounds) and you are locked into vats for about 20 seconds. I checked the New Vegas version and it doesn't appear to have this issue.
I've noticed my companions not reloading their weapons when they're out in the open. When they get to cover they crouch and reload but that's the only time they do it. Happens to the raiders too when they pick up my dead companion's weapon and fires off the whole magazine. Don't know if having a lot of other weapons from other mods has any effect or anything.
In the description, and on my author page. Download lStewieAl's Tweaks, and its INI. Run the game, then change the line bManualReload=0 to bManualReload=1
Thanks for the awesome mod, but I have a question. The Manual Reload mod in New Vegas Remembers the ammo status of your guns when you switch between them via hotkeys, but this one does not. For example, if I have an assault rifle and I shoot it empty and then press the hotkey for my pistol and then switch back the assault rifle will be fully loaded again. This does not happen in the New Vegas version as it remembers that the gun is supposed to be empty. Is it possible to implement this into the Fallout 3 version as well?
Thank you for making this!! The original Manual Reload didn't work with my controller and I had to use something like Xpadder to get it working, but this works right out of the box and the added bonus of not being a plugin is wunderbar!! <3
I like this mod. I usually reload myself, because of habit from playing more aggressive FPS games. Anything that adds realism is a plus in my book. However, I noticed an aesthetic issue. When you empty a clip and keep holding the trigger... you get a visual weapon recoil that continues, even though no bullets are coming out of the weapon. Let go of the trigger and pull it again... you get the empty chamber sound. I can live with it, but just thought I'd point it out. Probably nothing to be done about it either.
That’s actually a vanilla engine bug, it happens in the base game if you shoot while landing as well. This mod makes it more prominent - I’d like a fix too but I won’t be looking into it.
Good mod, very immersive. I'd been doing some settlement building after installing it the other day and thus avoiding combat for a while, when I eventually got into a fight I found myself foolishly clicking the trigger on an empty gun. It was a few seconds before I remembered that now I needed to manually reload.
This is a great idea :D However, I ran into a problem. It seems that sometimes when I quit aiming and try to reload, my view gets somehow modified... My gun seems to be higher than it was and it feels strange. Also my pip-boy. It goes slightly higher, and off screen. Like I can't see the top of my pip-boy screen. It may just be a conflict on my end though. Thought I'd give you a heads up.
Could I clarify, where to install it?,. My folder FOSE Is structured: Fallout 3 Data scr common fose fose fose_common fose_editor loader Folder [plugins] it goes into one of the folders [fose] or in the directory along with [data and scr], I would appreciate the clarification

...\Fallout 3\Data\fose\plugins\fose_manual_reload.dll
So you should install it to the Data folder.
Hope that helps
Example: Stay in front of a raider and you will see him stop shooting you when the ammo in his clip end.
