One of the best mods ever. My normal progress of hacking consisted of first really trying to play the silly game and sometimes be in shitluck and not get it, towards angrily clicking random words hoping for an unlock. It gets old real fast, I use your 5 word version, I love it!
Thing is, I guess you and all the people that logged off and relogged to a terminal and clicked random words, never grasped the idea of clicking the special characters THAT REMOVE ENTRIES AND REPLENISH ATTEMPTS. Anything between {}, [], () could be clicked and words could be removed.
But this is the new generation of gamers, press A to unlock seems easier. Next thing is remove the picklock minigame and have safes unlocked with a push of the button. Remove a gameplay element because gamers don't use their IQ. Ridiculous.
Bambacha, the 'dud' system is also random and monotonous . The WHOLE system has nothing to do with "IQ" or being a "new generation of gamers". The system is broken. It is random. Randomness has nothing to do with intellect. There sometimes terminals where you can fail 100% and still do everything right, due to the nature of the minigame.
most people downloading the mod probably can't solve it reliably. but even as someone that can (i don't need to exit and enter to solve it), i don't think it's a good minigame. it's a lot of tedium (it is just counting/mental brute force) for something where they often include a lockpick alternative for. the lockpick minigame is much more simple/logical in comparison for the same reward.
yeah right...because it's veeeery convenient! LOL Not only you have to open console each time to use on every damned locked terminal in the game, but you also lose XP, that by hacking every terminal, that is in the game (with all the DLCs) can potentially give you at least 2 or 3 levels worth of XP in total...very clever...
I know that this is very old. But, I don't know where to manually put this because it didn't say so in the desc, and it's not letting me download it with Nexus Mod Manager... It's saying I have to check the Nexus File ID. Does anyone know a fix? Idk if anyone's even still on this thread, but...
The mod only has plugins. Download manually, unpack and choose the esp you want. Add that to your game's Data folder, open NMM and tick the esp in NMM's 'plugins' tab. Play and enjoy...
Great mod, essential to those of us who hate mini-games. In conjunction with another mod here - "Force Lock Chance Always 100%" - this mod allows the player to skip those annoying mini-games. I noticed that some seem confused how to install this. It's very easy, I will explain to those who are not computer savvy.
First, download the file manually, (don't use the mod manager), then use a free unpacker program (I use "PeaZip") and it will unpack the .rar file, pick the version of the file you want to use. I use the "Action-Boy" one, because that is the quickest and easiest to bypass the hacking, and unpack the file you chose to your desktop. Then, "cut" (right click it) the file, and find where your Fallout 3 folder is, usually under "programfiles(x86) - "steam" - "steamapps" - "common" - then open the Fallout 3 main folder, then open the "Data" folder. and place (by using "paste" the file you chose into that folder. (it will have a .esp on the end of the file name) Then, restart your Fallout 3 game, and make sure the file is checked in the "data files" screen, and load your game and you are good to go! [This process can be used for most of the mods on this site by the way, except for the most complicated ones where they usually require more work and a mod manager]

Or perhaps the devs made a shitty minigame.
Eidos Montreal showed everyone how hacking minigame should work with new Deus Ex, so get bent, "enlightened" re,tard.
This is such great mod, so far above what we should expect from a regular mod, that it deserves a new vegas version.
