These things are nightmare fuel! Seriously, I nearly peed myself a bit when I first encountered one. The horn sound is enough to send chills up my spine and bring on a true sense of dread given how tough (and deadly) these are. A most excellent mod and many kudos to you and Skelectrical for bringing it to life.
@AmaccurzerO I've actually added these walker "footstep" sounds from the movie into your mod for personal use but I can't figure out even when looking at liberty primes code for his footsteps and duplicating them and then attaching the sound file into your mod within FO3edit how to get the walking sound from the movie to play whenever the walker takes a step, furthermore I can't get both the Horn sound and the walking sound to play at the same time, they both act as constant looping sound effects no matter what I change in FO3Edit; so when I remove the looping flag for example from the horn sound it still loops constantly regardless of whatever efforts I put into changing it, even when I assign the "Play at random flag to the horn sound". I guess ultimately here I'm requesting an updated version of the mod with the new walking sound link: War of the Worlds Tripod Walk Sound by lucy kurosaki | Free Listening on SoundCloud (btw it doesn't seem the walking sounds nor the horn sound are copywrited) and a less frequent horn sound sound (non-looping) constantly that plays maybe only when the walker spots an enemy or just totally at random. Nevertheless, amazing mod it's become one of my favorites here on the nexus now, but with these new features implemented it would become perfect.
EDIT: Also if you put a spot light on the walker that is attached to a script that only activates at night time, imagine the horror, pure perfection.
One of the best mods on the site, now if we could only get it with the War of the Worlds walking sound effects too and make the horn sound effect play far less often instead of over and over again endlessly. Very minor critiques all things considered; again I love this mod and watching it decimate the Enclave cracked me up.
Very cool mod. I'm no modder, would there be a way to add a search light to the machine-I dunno, maybe something like the lights out front of megaton somehow baked into the war machine chassis? I'd imagine seeing that in the distance in the dead of night would be terrifying for all the right reasons! Great work mate.
Fucken Amazing i Shat my pants i exited a building and this Fucken Hellish Sound Effect From World Of War boomed my speakers and this s#*! murdered me in one shot as soon as i came out that door but i was lvl 3 so thats ight i cant wait to level up to fight that thing. 10/10 would like to encounter for the first time again perfect for high level play thrs

That video link isn't the sound from the actual movie, the guy who posted that video made it himself and provided a download link (It doesn't work anymore since it expired, but still). Thus, it is not copyrighted and since the guy posted a download link he is basically giving free access to use it.

Hate to necro a dead thread but I wanted to say AmaccurzerO, you can add these sound effects for your own private gaming needs. BUT, you can tell us how to do it without posting it and we could do that ourselves, would you consider making a small guide how to do it once you figure it out?
I like the War of the Worlds sound effect but I also like the one you already used. It scared me shitless the first time I was walking by without seeing the walker and heard that sound. My god it startled me legitimately. Awesome work as always!
