NaboeN, I am aware of the difference between a gatling gun and a revolver cannon (not to mention Nordenfelt or MeRoKa types). The latter are for example three-chambered Mauser recoiless 30 cannon for Tiger/Gerfaut attack helicopter or old ADEN cannon (or was it DEFA?) Anyway, look here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Revolver_cannon
P.S. F-35(JSF) 27mm cannon is five- or six-chambered, one-barreled licensed imperial (inch) measured copy of Mauser BK-27.

By the way, there are more than a few models of revolver cannons (the 27mm cannon of the F-35 for example).

Actually, that is a Gatling gun, a revolver has a rotating chamber with all the rounds, A Gatling gun has rotating barrels, like a Minigun (or Vulcan if you know what you're talking about)

To be totally anal: it was Webley-Fosberry Autorevolver, and in The Maltese Falcon Sam Spade's partner was killed with it.

To be anal, Enfeild (or Webley, I can't recall) made a gas-operated revolver. It wasn't very successful, but making a full auto isnt impossible (just impractical and inefficient)

Cool mod. I'm just going to pretend that my character is fanning the hammer old-west style to get that rate of fire (athough guys in real life can do it faster <img class=">).

I would point out that a REVOLVER physically CANNOT be an 'automatic', but well...nevermind I guess I just did...
