No matter how hard I try, I can not get this mod to work. when in reshade it says something along the lines of "failed to load something.cfg" If you launch the game after that it says "effect failed" and from there I don't know where to go.
i've been using the alternate version for my current fallout 3 playthrough, and i have to say, it's amazing. it makes the game look so much better. it enhances the visuals and the atmosphere, and i don't think i can play without it now.
the only thing that i don't like is the excessive bloom. in buildings, white walls and white objects tend to blind me when i have the pipboy light turned on. that is with bloom and hdr turned off in the game settings. is there a way to turn this off in the reshade files? apart from that, i love it, the same goes for the new vegas preset you released, i am a big fan of that one as well.
Hey man, thanks so much for the kind words :). Unfortunately, I don't really remember much about the old version of reshade that I used to make this, I remember having the bloom issue when creating it, but I had some bugs where I would change settings and they wouldn't apply so I couldn't end up resolving it. The only thing I can think to remedy the issue is if you can find an old youtube tutorial or something about a legacy build of reshade (2.0 maybe) and tweak it to your liking based on that.
Hey man, I made this preset a long time ago and I have a new pc now, so I dont have any of the original files. The original medfiafire link was hosted by the reshade website but now they have some fancy new version of the software and dont seem to host the old one anymore. I did a bit of googling and found some older versions of reshade here: https://www.mediafire.com/folder/8ar1jhh1809cl/ReShade_Repository I would suggest trying the version 2.0, as I'm pretty sure I made this preset using 1.0 or something so that will be the closest. I have no idea if it will work, though I wish you good luck.
so i did exactly as you put in the description and i am not getting your effects, i am however getting the positive startup reshade messages after launching the game. so is there a step i missed?
Edit: do i have to select the effects in the pipeline? if so, which ones?
When I launch fallout 3 and I look at the top left hand corner it says, "compiling effect failed". I am sure I followed your instructions exactly. Help!
I have that problem too, I don't know what can I do to make it work. And this guy, don't say how to uninstall correctly, but well, if you don't have any solution yet, uninstall. Well, i am going to see if this make work again my game.
I found the solution, maybe, when you install the game, you need an archive called "d3d9.dll", and this archive, solution the crash when you start a new game. This mod replace this archive, and your game crash. You can't install any Enb or mods like this. Now, I can play the game, I hope it helped you.
