There are two files you can download, "Point Lookout - Remove NPC Damage Effects" and "Point Lookout Damage Overhaul".
The difference is that "Point Lookout Damage Overhaul" contains the entirety of "Point Lookout - Remove NPC Damage Effects", plus some additional records. You should use one or the other; using both is just a waste of a load order slot.
I'm going to use the "Damage Overhaul" file, since it is a bit newer and, I assume, better.
Weird...are you sure about this? I looked up on the UUFP3 main page to check and see which changes each version made to the game and never found anything regarding the damage, that swamp folks do to the player! Can anyone confirm that?
Well, as of v3.1.8 (UUF3P version I was using) it certainly hadn't touched it, and I see no listing for any such fix currently explicitly mentioned in the changelog for any newer versions, which is odd given how much else they tweak that isn't a pure bugfix as such.
Good show. Needed. No PL difficulty fix seems perfect but I tired both of your files and find the NPC one the best I've tried. Swamp folk are still a bit bullet-spongy there but you are more survivable to fight them - and you wouldn't want to make it too easy. Many thanks. Endorsed.
It's not about the difficulty, it's about the stupidity. It's absurd that everyone in PL does a flat 35 damage even through armor. There's much better ways to add difficulty than that.
If you're looking for difficulty set the in game difficulty to max, and add some mods. dont just go to point lookout where the NPC's do pointless damage...I must say i do like the challenge tho, even though a tribal with an axe should by no means be a threat to an enclave soldier wearing APA
Oh I'm sorry, I don't really see it as 'difficulty' problems when I can easily handle a dungeon's of Super Mutants and Enclave respectfully ON VERY HARD without burning through 10 or so stimpacks and yet irradiated inbred Hicks and the Tribals in Culvert Manor can make me burn through 85 stimpacks ON NORMAL.
I also don't see how their weapons nearly broken can almost kill me in a few shots when I use the same exact ones, fully repair them, and need to use A FULL f*#@ing CLIP OR MULTIPLE TO KILL THEM!
If I can find a mod that can either change the mistake Bethesda made, either by damage or health, yeah I'm going to f*#@ing use it cause I don't see how a Tribal can use a hunting rifle to kill me, fully dressed in the WINTERIZED T-51B WITH ALMOST 80 DR THANKS TO PERKS and yet I can't seem to even take a chunk off their health bar with the double barrel shotgun unless they're basically sucking off the f*#@ing barrels, and even THEN it's literally like 1/8th with a 100 small guns skill. Don't even get me started on how quickly my 5.56 ammo went when I tried going in with the Assault rifle, the very same, might I add, that can kill Super Mutants in half a f*#@ing clip!
f*#@ you Ormond, I hope your game glitches and your saves get corrupt.
Seems to work well. I'm using the first file, the -35 damage one. Not sure how the script modification one compares. Thanks though, takes a lot of the ball ache out of PL.
